We received sad news from Winnipeg that Alison “Ali” Low passed away in hospital on Friday, October 2, 2026. A shock to many who had seen her during her recent visit back to Nova Scotia.

Ali was a beloved member of our church family. Her laughter and big hugs were often shared with us all. On Sunday mornings, I’d often hear her singing out “Hey there pretty lady!” as she swooped in to hug my wife Erica. Only after that might I receive a chuckle and a “Good morning pastor.” She loved church, and would often drop in to talk with pastor Erica and stop by with deep theological questions. It was because of Ali that we now have a month each spring where the Sunday sermons are all based on questions from the congregation.

Ali always had something profoundly thoughtful and generous going on: organizing gifts for children, hosting Christmas Day dinner for those with nowhere to go, coming up with a children’s play, finding treasures from Value Village to share with someone she thought of that week, encouraging a timid friend to sing publically, helping people in illness, providing meals to someone struggling, and always bringing joy into the room.

We are so thankful for the way God’s unconditional love and grace shone through her life. We will miss you, Ali!

We honour the life and faith of Rev. Norman Hovland, who served faithfully as both pastor and later pastor emeritice at our church. He and Eleanor touched countless lives. We hold Eleanor and the entire family close in our hearts and prayers.

Celebrate the life of Rev. Norman Hovland and join others in sharing memories, stories, and condolences.

The Church Office will be closed tomorrow (Wednesday, September 30) to honour the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

Tomorrow is a time to honour the children who never returned home from residential schools, the Survivors, their families, and their communities.

We encourage everyone to take time to listen, learn, and reflect on how we can contribute to reconciliation throughout the year.

🧡 Every Child Matters.

Note: rental schedules vary, please check with the organizer of your event or group.
