Hey, have you been there? Weary? Many of you have and you know exactly what that it is like. The thing is we have to keep going. We are to do good, it is a race, one that we are given strength for through the Holy Spirit. Yet sometimes we give up, we fall back, we just want to let everything go because we get tired, worn, and discouraged. For those who struggle with weariness today does not mean you are weak or a failure. Put that out of your mind immediately. Those types of thoughts are not from God. God has not given up on you. Allow the Spirit of God to encourage you even now as your read this. You are His treasure and prize possession bought with the price of His own Son's life, Jesus. You will see the fruit of your efforts and give glory to God. See you Sunday at 10:30am

Part of what Jesus said in his delivery of the Sermon on the Mount. It is hard to imagine being blessed by feeling a deep sadness from condition or circumstance I might find myself in. But as I think about it more I wonder if it is "blessed" then how much greater must be the comforting compared to the sadness? There is much to be sad about in this world today let alone our specific place we live in and not to mention the sadness that occurs at times as a result of our family and friends. Yet Jesus' words seem to tell the sufferer to hang on, be strong, because comfort is coming and that through Jesus himself who comes to our aid. Remember Jesus said that he would send another just like him....the Holy Spirit, to guide lead and comfort. When I am sad I do not feel blessed, but I do look to better times. I think this verse encourages the listener to trust that Jesus has their back.
