36,000LBs of Food from the 5th Annual Food Drive!

Wow! BRANTFORD!

Thank you to our local churches and all volunteers for working tirelessly, going door to door, dropping flyers and picking up food, packing, sorting and moving food to Brantford Food Bank.

Kingdom Building right here and now, in our beloved community.

God is so good.

Wonderful morning serving our city by cleaning up the park after Canada Day. There are many congregations … but only ONE church.

WE DID IT! Another year in the books.

Our grand total for 2022 is 35,000lbs of food donations collected and delivered to the Brantford Food Bank. Our friends at the food bank shared their deep appreciation for this event again as it has become a reliable source for what they call “dry goods” through the summer months when they would otherwise go without at times.

While this is less food than the 47,000lbs we collected last year covering roughly the same area it is likely worth a similar dollar value to what we have collected in the past. The reduction in giving also, to me, speaks to the need at hand. Food banks across Canada are reporting a sharp increase in need and I am proud to stand with you the church to help fill that need. Thank you once again to BigSteelBox for your partnership.

One more important thing we want to share and something we would ask you share with your congregations - the food bank is in desperate need of volunteers to sort food. They need volunteers for one time events as well as some who can help on a recurring basis.

It’s exciting to see service groups asking the church for help when they need it and we hope we can answer the call again. Those who can help on a recurring basis can sign up at: https://crs-help.ca/foodbank/get-involved/donate-time/. Those who would like to send a team to help sort can contact Ashley via email at: [email protected]

Thank you all for your hard work and faithfulness to this event, those it witnesses to and those it serves. God Bless, see you next year.
