We had an incredible Sunday in Winnipeg as three people made their faith in Jesus public through baptism! Jesus truly changes everything, and we’re so excited to see more and more people discovering greater life in Winnipeg. God is moving!

— Planted a local church in Kampala, Uganda in 1984
— Watoto Church now reaches 38,000 people each week and has cares for their community holistically through 2,700 small groups
— 10 years later, began Watoto Child Care Ministries, placing thousands of orphans in families, empowering thousands of vulnerable women to reach their own families and communities, rescuing babies and former child soldiers, keeping over 30,000 girls in school, and sending more than 100 children’s choirs across six continents

Pastors Gary and Marilyn Skinner passionately believe that it is the responsibility of the local church to solve community problems and they are coming to share with us what they’ve learned along the way. We are so blessed to be able to hear and receive from them at Builders Gathering!

Introducing Builders Gathering: for those who build the church

Builders Gathering is a time for builders—pastors, leaders and members—to be encouraged and strengthened; that they may arise and put their hands to the good work of building great local churches.

Featuring Pastors Gary and Marilyn Skinner, founders of Watoto Church. Over three days, we will gain fresh vision for the local church, deepen our commitment to the local church and encounter Jesus—the chief builder of the local church. We will hear from those who have gone before us, and transformed a nation through the building of the church.

We are honoured to have Pastors Gary and Marilyn Skinner, the visionary founders of Watoto Church. In a time of civil war, the Skinners founded Watoto Church in Uganda in 1984, and it has since expanded into 16 locations with 38,000 people gathering in-person and online every week.

Pastors Gary and Marilyn will be equipping us through their wisdom and experience, and imparting to us a spirit of faith to build the local church in our own context.
