Last Sunday we dove into communion, as a community in union with Jesus. We are believers united to each other, and united to Christ - in so we called to "recognize the body" as we partake of the supper. This coming Sunday we are going to start a new series on the book of Joshua! Joshua opens with enormous change "Moses my servant is dead." Its a remarkable way to begin a book! Moses, who brought Israel out of Egypt, confronted Pharaoh, received the law, and led Israel through the wilderness is gone. We can imagine the people asking - Now what? As Joshua steps into leadership and as Israel stands at the edge of the Promised Land, we will explore what is NEXT with a sermon titled "Be Strong and Courageous." Our text is Joshua 1:1-18. Last week we looked to how God overcomes barriers as the gospel goes out. Paul and Silas faced a lot, but through faithful going, praying, singing, and trusting - even in a prison cell God built his church. Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, you and your whole household. This coming Sunday, we’ll partake of the Lord's Supper, but we'll also explore the Lord’s Supper in our sermon. Not simply as a meal we receive, but as a powerful picture of our unity with Christ and one another. Come discover how communion calls us from division and selfishness toward forgiveness, fellowship, confidence, and joyful belonging at Christ’s table. Our Sermon is titled "Communion" and we will read from 1 Corinthians 10:14-17 and 11:27-34

You are invited to come along on a Church Hike! Come on out for a nice walk through Brandon Hills on Saturday August 22nd. We will meet at the gate of the trails at 10:00am, and then do one of the green loops together. Please let Pastor Steve know if you are planning on coming so we can wait for you at the trailhead. We continue to press forward in faith! This past Sunday we saw how Israel, even in their rebellion, was restored to God—and how you and I are restored to God through Jesus, who stands between us and the wrath we deserve because of our sinfulness. We have great hope because of Jesus, our Mediator, Protector, and Savior. This coming week we will look at the story of Paul and Silas as they are jailed and miraculously set free. They faced many kinds of barriers, yet the gospel still went out. We will discover that the Gospel is unstoppable. We will read Acts 16:16-34, and the sermon is titled “Unstoppable!”

We did it, thirteen Sunday's on Galatians Chapter 5. We ended our series this past Sunday Aug 9, by looking at how we are now to live. After being saved into freedom by Christ we must... Keep in Step with the Spirit! For this coming Sunday we are going to go to the Old Testament, to a three fold story about God, Moses, and the Israelites. The story has three movements, in Exodus 32:1-20 we read of Rebellion, in Exodus 33:12-16 we read about Mediation, and in Exodus 34:10-14 we read about Restoration. Its a pattern that we experience still today as believers - rebellion, then our need for a mediator, and God restoring us back to himself. We will read all three of these passages, with a sermon apply titled: "Rebellion, Mediation, Restoration." Pastor Steve would love it if you read all three passages before Sunday.
