Today is Easter…
and something in me
doesn’t want to rush past that

Because we say it so quickly

He is risen

and move on

But do you understand
what that means?

That means

the body
that hung on a cross

the lungs
that stopped breathing

the heart
that was pierced

started again

Not symbolically

Literally

He was dead

and then—

He wasn’t

And I can’t stop thinking
about the stillness of that tomb

How dark it must have been
How final it must have felt

How death had never
lost before

Every other body
that entered a grave

stayed

Every other story
that ended in death

ended

Until Him

Until Jesus

Because death
met something it had never met before

A Savior
who didn’t just die

but had the authority
to take His life back

And I wonder
what it sounded like

when breath filled His lungs again

When silence broke

When the grave
realized
it couldn’t keep Him

Because the stone
wasn’t rolled away
so He could get out

It was rolled away
so we could see

See that death
does not have the final word

See that sin
does not have the final word

See that your story
does not end
in the grave

Because if Jesus
walked out

then nothing
is too far gone

Not your past
Not your mistakes
Not the things you’ve buried
and tried to move on from

Not even the parts of you
that feel completely dead

Because this is what Easter means

It means death
is defeated

It means hope
is not fragile

It means darkness
doesn’t win

It means God
is not finished

And if He can step into a grave
and walk out alive

then He can step into your life
and do the same

So today—

don’t just say
He is risen

Feel it

Let it shake you

Let it confront you

Let it change you

Because Jesus

is not in the grave

He is alive

And that

changes everything 🤍

Today is Good Friday…
and everything feels heavy

Not quiet in a peaceful way
but quiet like something is missing
like the world is holding its breath

Because this is the day
love didn’t look victorious

It looked like loss

It looked like a mother watching her son suffer
like friends standing at a distance
not knowing what to do
not able to stop it

It looked like prayers that felt unanswered
like hope slipping through fingers
like the kind of grief
that makes your chest ache

And He didn’t stop it

Jesus didn’t step down
He didn’t call angels
He didn’t rewrite the moment

He stayed

And I think that’s what undoes me the most

Because He knew

He knew how it would feel
He knew what it would cost
He knew the weight of it

And still

He chose to stay

For the ones who would run
For the ones who would doubt
For the ones who would forget

For me

So today isn’t light

It’s not pretty
It’s not easy

It’s the kind of day
that reminds you death is real

that loss is real

that sometimes you stand there
loving someone
and there is nothing you can do to save them

But this day

this painful
heavy
unbearable day

is not pointless

Because this is the day
love proved
it would go all the way

All the way into suffering
All the way into death
All the way into the grave

And if love was willing to go that far

then maybe

just maybe

it’s strong enough
to meet us there too

Today is Good Friday

And it doesn’t feel good

But it is

Because Jesus didn’t walk away

He stayed.

Today is Holy Thursday…
And love looked like a table

Not a throne
Not a crowd shouting His name
Just a room, a meal
and the people closest to Him

Even the one who would betray Him

Jesus knew

He knew the denial was coming
the betrayal was already in motion
the cross was only hours away

And still

He sat down with them

He broke the bread
He poured the wine

“This is My body”
“This is My blood”

Not symbols of comfort
but of what He was about to give

Everything

And then

He got lower

The King of heaven
wrapped in a towel

kneeling

washing feet that would run
serving hearts that would scatter

Even Judas

Even Peter

Even the ones who wouldn’t stay

Because that’s who Jesus is

He doesn’t love based on what you’ll do
He loves because of who He is

And I wonder

Would I have understood it

Or would I have sat at that table
thinking it was just another meal

Not realizing
I was watching love rewrite everything

Because this wasn’t just dinner

This was surrender

This was the moment
He showed us what love really looks like

Not loud
Not self-seeking
Not holding back

But kneeling
serving
giving

And today

on this Holy Thursday

I feel Him asking

Will you love like this

Will you serve when it’s hard
stay when it costs
give when it’s not returned

Because the same hands
that broke the bread

are the same hands
that would be broken for you

So don’t rush past this moment

Sit at the table

Let it sink in

This is what love looks like

And it’s about to change everything
