Hear the initiation to our communion service this morning at 10:30: "This is the table, not merely of the church, but of Christ. It is made ready for those who love him, and for those who want to love him more. Come, whether you have much faith or little, whether you have tried to follow or are afraid you've failed. Come, because it is His will that those who want to meet Him might meet Him here."

This evening is the opening worship service for General Assembly at Vaughan Community Church.

Congratulations to Dr. Andrew Fulford upon graduation with his PhD from McGill University this week!

In the Acknowledgements section of his dissertation, Dr. Fulford writes, "I am...grateful to Dr. Daniel Scott, Frank & Judy Geertsema, Leila & Edgar Lloyd, along with the whole community of St. John’s Presbyterian Church Bradford for their long encouragement and care for me since childhood and into my adulthood and vocational training."

Dr. Fulford!!! The congregation at St. John's saw your keen mind and vibrant faith as a child and has been privileged to watch the hard work you’ve poured into your studies for years. We are so incredibly proud of you and can’t wait to see what you do next.

This looks like a fabulous event. There are some soccer stars at St. John’s who might be interested in going.

Last Monday, St. John’s hosted Catholic university students from across the province as they walked a pilgrimage from St. Barnabus Catholic Church in Scarborough to the Martyrs’ Shrine in Midland.
Led by Father Hansoo and Father Matthew, they walked and talked to one another and to God. Before arriving at St. John’s, they walked one day from Scarborough to Markham and the next day to King City. They slept at St. John’s and left early Tuesday morning, arriving in Barrie later that afternoon. This is the ‘orientation’ phase of a summer of mission and service. After the pilgrimage is completed, the young people will lead day camps in a number of parishes.
