Friends, even when you can’t be in church, Jesus is with you wherever you are, even at home! I’m starting because in these tough times someone could use that encouragement! Please help them by sharing this. Please also post photos of you at home with Flat Jesus, and what that means to you, whether profound or lighthearted. Please tag me, Lucia Lloyd. If you don’t yet have a Flat Jesus, you (or your kids!) can draw one and cut it out. When I first moved to Canada 🇨🇦, alone, with only the things I could fit in my Prius, I felt very deeply the loss of everyone I’d ever known and loved in The Episcopal Church, and the uncertainty and fear of moving to a foreign country where I didn’t know anybody. So I took with me the Flat Jesus that Helen Svoboda-Barber had given me at the Episcopal Church’s General Convention, so it would remind me that even when my beloved church community wasn’t present with me, our connections remain, and that as I faced the uncertainty and fear of a new place, I wasn’t alone: Jesus was with me. The youth of the Episcopal Diocese of Michigan made and distributed this flat Jesus to show Jesus was with people wherever they travelled. Now that we are staying home from church to keep one another safe and well, it’s time to remember and to express that we are still connected and Jesus is with us at home.
Also, like the page Flat Jesus by the youth of the Episcopal Diocese of Michigan and the AtHomeWithFlatJesus page I just made. I’m excited to see you and Flat Jesus!
