Mildred Kerr
Mildred Kerr passed away this week. Her “Celebration of Life” will be held at Hendren Funeral Home in Bobcaygeon on Sat. Sept. 26th at 11:30 a.m. with visitation starting at 10:30 a.m. A reception will follow the service. Let us keep the Kerr family in our thoughts and prayers, as they go through this difficult time of loss.

What a grand event we had at last Sunday’s service, with our special guest, The Right Rev. Dr. Kimberley Heath, Moderator of the United Church of Canada and many from neighboring United Churches. Many thanks to all who made this such a special day. Thanks to Bob for his leadership and to Debra and special guest flutist, Diana Scates, the choir and all the other musical groups within our church for wonderful music. Thank you to all who helped with lunch, from setting up the hall and Friendship Room, to preparing and serving the delicious lunch, helping in the kitchen and cleaning everything up afterwards. Special thanks to Nicolette for yet another delicious cake. Special thanks to Jim Telford and helpers for picking up and installing a new dishwasher. Thank you to Lee Ascenzo for help with audio and to Dave Ross our official photographer. Many thanks to all who help make this such a special day.

Wellness Workshop and Fundraiser for Trinity United Church Bobcaygeon is taking place on Saturday, October 3rd from 9:30 a.m. –12 noon in Trinity Hall. CLOSING THE GAP PROJECT UPDATE
Save this date and time – Sunday, October 4 th , 2026, 12:00 PM, Trinity United
Church Sanctuary Join us for an information session about our plans to help Trinity United be a
sustainable place of worship and a valued community hub for years to come.
We have already made good progress on our project aimed at “Closing the Gap”
between revenue and expenses for this year.
Now we are ready to build on this success and take the next step. Your Church Council
agrees that it is time to focus on what we need to do to achieve the goal of a
Sustainable Future. This is when the hard work begins: the practical work of long-term
planning and implementing lasting solutions.
After much discussion, Council and the team heading up this project realized that we
need someone to help us navigate through this complex process and to achieve a
successful outcome. Someone who knows how to get things done…
We identified a Professional Facilitator, Sheila Cook, as the person to guide us through
this journey. Sheila has over 25 years of experience supporting not-for-profit health care
agencies and charities in getting their most important work done. She’s a local –
Buckhorn – and is well known to both Rev. Bob and Rev. Rodney.
On October 4 th , Sheila will share her experience and an overview of her proposal to
steer Trinity United Church through the challenges ahead of us. Please come to the
service and stay on afterwards from 12:00 noon to 12:30, to learn more about the approach
and opportunities for you to be involved.
