To the Church, the Body of Jesus in Black Creek and beyond.
As Wes reminded us last Sunday, we are His eyes, noses, feet, voices and all the other pieces of His Body in this world, to those who don't know.... and those who do. 🙋

Margins - the places where things extra-ordinary can happen. ✨
When I find myself with narrow margins, sometimes God reminds me that I need to make some room for.....
Talking to two fellows in the parking lot at the airport.
Turns out they are lonely young men, new to Canada and looking for a friendly face and a 'Kind' Canadian experience.
I got to invite them to our church, including having them check out our website to bring them up to speed on how we do Sunday mornings.

2 Sundays from now (August 29th) we are planning a Baptism by the sea. After the service, at 1:00 pm Trent Scoville and I are wading into the water at Miracle Beach for his Baptism.
For the rest of you, it is an invitation to bring your lunch, have a visit, and of course, be a part of celebrating this milestone in Trent's faith walk.
A reminder that Miracle Beach is often windy at that time of day.
Looking forward to seeing you there.

🙏Please continue to pray for folks that are ill, facing difficulty and a particular request for marriages. Lots of extra stresses have made for a challenging summer for some😕.

Last week I mentioned that I am working on receiving course corrections well. This week I was reminded that when I want to encourage someone it can sometimes turn into something different.... 🤔
Job's friends started out with great motivation...
📖 Job 2:11 Now when Job’s three friends heard of all this evil that had come upon him, they came each from his own place...... They made an appointment together to come to show him sympathy and comfort him.
...but something got lost as their discussion progressed...

Friday Update - one day early

Good day my dear friends,
Happy Canada Day!

Wow, we have been waiting for this day for a long time.We are now legally able to meet without restrictions in our church building.

Our signs are gone and barriers down...... but it all feels a bit strange....I remember the feeling of strangeness when this all started. That feeling is sort of back.... except there is a lot more joy this time!

Come, enjoy fellowship, be safe, hand sanitize and use a mask if you like. (The recommendation is to wear a mask indoors if you are not fully vaccinated.)
No Signup required!

We have switched our service time to 10:30 as we are planning to have only one service during the summer months.

Come early and stay late if you wish.
There will be a coffee-time downstairs / outside at the back of the church.
Meet, greet and transition back to a place of being comfortable around one another.

The word for me today was,
James 1:2 Count it all joy, my brothers,
when you meet trials of various kinds,
3 for you know that the testing of your faith produces
steadfastness.
4 And let steadfastness have its full effect,
that you may be perfect and complete,
lacking in nothing.

God continues to teach me to:
- Trust in Him
- Learn from this moment
- Have grace for myself and others.
- And pray more continually than ever.

It reminds me of a camp song from the 70s..And Jesus said,
"Come to the water, stand by my side
I know you are thirsty, you won't be denied

Friday Update, June 4th
Good day fellow sojourners in Black Creek and beyond, 🤗

It was Sooooo good to get together last Sunday for our first in-person inside service for 6 months. My heart was thankful for the blessing of seeing folks I hadn't for a long time. 🙌
And it was especially nice to meet inside..... as it rained that morning. 🌧

This Sunday, Stephen Jackson ( - as far as I know not a relative of mine), the director of Camp Bob, ⛺ will bring the message. 📖 Benj Klassen will be leading worship.... and I suspect some fun Camp songs too. Come on out to hear what Camp has planned for children and youth this summer!

This past week I spent some time with Barry and Heidi looking over the new Covid regulations. 📚
It is now open for us to meet in the building 10 persons at a time for midweek adult groups. I will be contacting group leaders shortly to see if they would like to start up their groups again on this restricted basis. 📆 Stand by for more changes.... and fewer restrictions! 😀

Continue to pray for those in your circle. 🙏 This time has been difficult on relationships, health, finances and the stressors of life.

This week God has been nudging my heart regarding the Priesthood of all Believers - the mantle of ministry and authority that He gives to all who call Him Lord.
1 Peter 2:4 As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious,
5 you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvellous light. 🌤

So I encourage myself (and you), to walk in Him,
choosing kindness, obedience, and goodness this week, where ever we are.
