Canaan Land Bible training center in Big River was an intensive one-year residential program designed for men 18 years and older who have had some kind of life-controlling issues or addictions.
Some young men come to Canaan Land as drifters or from broken homes. Others are recommended by pastors or friends. Still others are battling substance abuse, alcohol or some other form of harmful addiction. Some young men come to Canaan Land as an alternative to prison. Judges, district attorneys and probation officers work closely with the staff to help some men seek rehabilitation.
This program is neither a halfway house or an escape from jail. It was established as a one-step program into Jesus Christ, discipling men with broken hearts. They study the Word of God to the equivalent of what an average church attender would get over a 30-year period using a one-step process of renewing the mind in order to die to one’s self because of living apart from Jesus for many years. It's the "Navy Seals of Christianity".
