St. Mark's United Church, Cannifton The Village Church by the River In the village of Canniff's Mills a group of Methodist Episcopalians chose a site along the Moira River to erect a church.

From the depths of the river limestone was quarried and stone by stone the beautiful structure now known as St. Mark's United Church was born. Since 1854 everyday persons have gathered at this village church by the river to worship God. In 1967 an amalgamation of churches took place and Cannifton United Church became the home church and thus was renamed St. Mark's United Church, the following chur

ches joined the union: Bethany United Church, Cannifton United Church, Carmel United Church, Centre St. Mission, St. Andrew's Gilead United Church.
