This candle symbolises the peace that Jesus brings to our hearts and to the world. It reminds us of the preparations made in Bethlehem for the arrival of the Saviour as well as the humble and quiet circumstances of His birth.
Verses for reflection:
John 14:27
Micah 5:2-4
Ephesians 2:14-17
Colossians 3:15-17
This week, we focus on the fact that Jesus is the Prince of Peace who offered a peace that surpasses all understanding and remains with us regardless of life's challenges. This second week of Advent invites us to prepare our hearts, just as Bethlehem was prepared for Jesus, making room for God's peace in our lives and in our relationships.
Prayer: Father, as we light this candle of peace, we ask that You prepare our hearts for Your coming. Clear the paths in our lives that keep us from You, and make room in our hearts for Your peace and presence. May we welcome You with open hearts and lives prepared for Your glory.
