When the summer season ends, a different kind of work begins.

Camp Huron may be quieter in September, but it is not dormant. This is the season of reviewing, repairing, planning, preparing, and caring for the place that has welcomed campers for generations.

The work is quieter now, but it matters.

It matters because Camp Huron is more than what happens in July and August. It is cabins, pathways, trees, campfires, chapel, friendships, faith, and memories carried home summer after summer.

For 80 summers, this place has been cared for by a community that believes in what camp makes possible.

We’re exploring a five-day day camp for children ages 6–12, with outdoor exploration, nature-based learning, games, and Camp Huron-style programming.

The last bags have been packed. The circle is quiet. The final campfire has burned low. But the songs, laughter, prayers, friendships, and quiet little moments of this summer will stay with us forever.

To every camper, family, staff member, volunteer, parish, supporter, and friend who helped make this summer possible: thank you.

For 80 summers, Camp Huron has been shaped by the people who have come here, loved this place, and carried its memories home with them. This summer now becomes part of that story.

And while the cabins may be quiet for now, our connection to Camp Huron does not end when summer does.

In the weeks ahead, we’ll be sharing more memories from our 80th summer, looking back through the history of camp, and continuing to celebrate the people and community who make this place what it is.

For now, we are simply grateful.

This official Camp Huron staff photo from 1996 is a reminder that the friendships, faith, laughter, and memories made at camp have been shaping generations for decades.

As we look back on 80 summers, we are grateful for everyone who has been part of this place as a camper, staff member, family member, parish supporter, or friend.
