From Calgary to Banff, and from start to finish - we are so grateful for the incredible team from YWAM Banff. 🤍

For the past two weeks, they’ve made the drive all the way from Calgary to volunteer with Banff Food & Friends — helping with everything from prep to serving, cleaning, and all the little things in between. 🍽️

Their consistency, kindness, and willingness to show up week after week means more to us than we can put into words. Thank you for giving your time, energy, and hearts to our community. ♥️

To the YWAM Banff team: thank you for showing us what it looks like to serve with joy. We truly appreciate every single one of you.

And to anyone thinking about volunteering - this is your sign. A Your time, no matter how much or how little, can make a real difference.

Good food, full plates, and a whole lot of community — that’s how we like to start the week! 🍽️🤍

This week’s Monday dinner was a true treat! A huge thank you to Chef Souvik for putting together such a delicious spread — from meatballs in curry sauce (with a veggie option too!) o sautéed veggies, rice, fresh salad, and plenty of sweet treats. 🍽️✨

But the real magic happens because of the wonderful people who show up to make it all possible. To every volunteer who helped prep, cook, serve, clean, and welcome our community — thank you! 🙌 You’re what makes these evenings so special.

A big shoutout to Chef Souvik for an amazing feast this week! 🍽️ From Cajun Spiced Chicken (and a veggie option) to roasted potatoes, sautéed veggies, garlic bread, fresh salad, and an endless selection of sweet treats — we were spoiled! 😍

And behind every meal is an incredible team of volunteers who make it all happen. 🙌 You are the heart of our community!

Sometimes community shows up in the most unexpected ways.

Our scheduled chef couldn’t make it this past Monday and we were close to cancelling. Then Chef Souvik got off work early, came straight to the hall, and had a taco meal ready for 5pm doors. Then went back to work. That is the kind of person he is and we are so grateful for him.

I don’t know what else to call that except community.

If you’ve been meaning to help but keep finding reasons not to, Chef Souvik is a pretty good argument for just showing up anyway. Even one hour matters. Nothing requires training. Just sign up and show up.

A huge thank you to Pursuit for their incredibly generous $4,500 grant to Banff Food & Friends. We are so grateful for your kindness and for believing in the importance of bringing people together through food, friendship, and community.

From taking in the breathtaking views of Banff and the Columbia Icefield to gathering around tables and sharing a meal, these moments are a beautiful reminder that connection is what makes a place special.
