Antigonish, Nova Scotia The Knights of Columbus, Council 1105 in Antigonish was established in March 23, 1906.

The Knights of Columbus, a fraternal, benevolent society of Catholic men was founded at New Haven, Connecticut in 1882, by Father Michael J. McGivney and a small group of pioneering Catholics to provide much needed security for widows and orphans of Catholic parishioners. The goal is to promote social and intellectual interchange, to protect and promote Catholic interests, and to foster a spirit o

f fraternity among citizens of all races and creeds. These Catholic men and their families, are dedicated to promoting the concepts of charity, unity, fraternity and patriotism. Today There are more than 1.8 million members in over 14,000 councils on three continents and numerous Island nations around the globe. The Knights of Columbus expanded to the Maritime Provinces with the first Council in Nova Scotia in Sydney (Council #1060)when it was chartered on Nov 13, 1905. This Council represents St. Ninian's Parish and supports the Community of Antigonish and the Church. The Knights of Columbus represent 49 Third Degree Councils and 14 Fourth Degree Assemblies throughout the province, with a membership of over 5000 Catholic men. As Knights of Columbus, it has been said that we are “the right arm of the Church” We are dedicated to the service of our Church, our Parishes and their Bishops and Priests. We also serve the communities in which we live. If you are a practicing Catholic man at least 18 years old, the Knights of Columbus may be for you.
