We are getting ready for our Giant, Mammoth Huge, Uber yard sale! Some interesting things coming though our doors - lots of yarn, tools, sports gear, doll house, household goods, a book case originally purchased in Bear River in 1913 and a Victorian Pram in mint condition.

Many thanks to all who purchased a hot dog at our Natal Day BBQ and to all of our volunteers and to those who donated. Tim Barteaux’s Model T Ford was a hit and it got us thinking about the 1920s. If you could hear the conversation between the giant oaks and elms with the Model T what would they say?

The trees to the Model T: Is that you? I remember when you first came along this road. You had a different driver back then but you parked right there every Sunday. The road was dirt and on a day like today, muddy.

The Model T: Yes, that was me! You have grown to be an outstanding witness to all the comings and goings of the town and a witness to much change.

The trees: Yes, many happy and sad times including visits by royalty, the great fire of 1921, weddings and funerals and new fashions, but one thing has not changed. The people still come to take shelter under my branches from the rain.

The Model T: Despite our age, you well over 100 and me just shy by a few years, we can still make meaningful contributions to our town.

The trees: You are so right. Stop by again. I will be here.
