HAPPY EASTER!! He has Risen Indeed!

We live in an age of distraction and so many things clamour after our time, our affections and our very minds. But God has a plan of peace for us, through comes through trusting in Jesus. God desires that our lives be defined by His peace (Isa 54:13) and we are able to live in God’s peace through increasing trust (Isa 26:3).

As I am writing this, I think about the words of Jesus in Matthew 11:28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Our rest is truly in Jesus and He is inviting us into it.

Colossians 3:15 says “let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.”

There is no doubt that finding peace in Christ is a matter of learning to trust. The good news is He is patient and kind and understands our weaknesses. (Heb 4:15, 1 Cor 12:9). Let’s start today with casting our cares upon Him for the Bible tells us He will sustain us. (Ps. 55:22, 1 Pet 5:7).

Trust in God's plan of absolute peace for your life through Jesus, there is real rest for your heart and mind that cannot be found anywhere else.

How are we truly established in life? And how do we live?

The Bible gives clarity, wisdom and truth for these vital life questions.

In John 14:6 Jesus said “I am the way and the truth and the life” and if we come to Him by faith he will never reject us. Jn 6:37.

As you and I trust in Jesus, He leads and directs our paths (Phl 2:13, Act 17:28, Psa 23:3). He protects and provides for us Phl 4:19, Jn 17:11-12. Angst is never part of the equation. If you feel angst in any part of life - choose to trust Jesus for it and He promises to provide rest for your soul (Mt 11:28). The Bible tells us that no one who trusts in Jesus will ever be put to shame.” (Ps 25:1, Rom 9:33, 10:11) and that as we trust in Him he will guard our hearts and minds. (Phl 4:7, Isa 26:3). I believe Jesus is waiting for you to trust Him fully.

What do I mean by trust? For we all know there are many problems in life. Trust is trust.
We can be upset by life and problems or choose to believe that God will work it out for our good - Rom 8:28, even if we make mistakes, God will work it out because He loves us (Eph 5:2, Gal 2:20, 2 Cor 12:9, 1 Jn 1:9).

Through trusting in Jesus, we become who we were created to be (Eph 2:10). We are in tune with God Himself (Jn 14:23, Jn 6:29, Heb 11:6) and our lives becomes the abundant life that God desires for us to have -Jn 10:10.

Trust in Jesus, He is for you and not against you - Rom 8:31.

The word of God tells us to rejoice in the truth. (1 Cor 13:6, 3 Jn :3-4).

What truth am I talking about?

The truth is that over 2000 years ago, Jesus the Son of God came to set us free by His death on a cross (Eph 1:7). Yes Jesus paid the price for all to be free! (Rev 5:9).

What freedom does faith in Jesus bring to us?

Freedom from fear of death (Heb 2:15). Freedom from sin, that means Jesus has given us the power to overcome sinful habits! (1 Cor 15:57, 1 Jn 3:8). Freedom from the effects of sin, especially shame and guilt. (Rom 5:17, Jn 8:36, Rom 8:1). Freedom from every fear and oppression (Heb 2:14-15, Lk 4:14-19, Isa 61). Freedom in our hearts and minds! (Heb 9:14). Freedom to enjoy life! (Jn 10:10)

What does the freedom of Jesus look like in daily life?

1 Peter 2:16 teaches: "Live in freedom, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as servants of God," and Galatians 5:13 says "don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love."

Finally how do we walk in the freedom of Christ?

The most important thing is to believe! Believing is a choice from our hearts to trust in the truth of God's word that we are indeed free. Romans 10:10 tells us the principal of faith "it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved."

We are to agree with the truth of what the Bible tells us Jesus has done for us! and we confess it openly and as often as needed. Regular reading of the word of God keeps the truth alive in our hearts and minds and gives us the strength to stand firm in the truth. (Gal 5:1, 3 Jn 1:4, Eph 6:14).
