Ancaster Community Services needs our help!

Ancaster Community Services needs our help!

Our food bank shelves are nearly empty and we need your help to fill them! There has been a 35% increase in demand for the Ancaster Food Bank in the last year, but the amount of community food donations remained the same. Help us bridge this gap.

🥫 Food (unexpired, unopened and non-perishable) and toiletries can be brought to Ancaster Community Services at 300 Wilson Street East, Ancaster (Monday-Friday, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm). There is a donation bin located in the lower foyer.

🛒 There are also donation bins located at Ancaster Food Basics, Ancaster Giant Tiger and Ancaster Longo’s.

💰️ Financial donations are also greatly appreciated, as they allow us to purchase items based on immediate needs, often at a reduced cost.

🫱🏼‍🫲🏾 We are also seeking partnerships with local businesses interested in redirecting surplus food to community members in need.

And a huge thank you to everyone who has donated! Your generosity means the world to us and to the individuals and families experiencing food insecurity here in Ancaster.

St. Andrew's will be marking Heritage Sunday on June 14 as a part of the annual Ancaster Heritage Days celebrations. Each year we remember those who rest in the St. Andrew's Cemetery but for our 200th Anniversary in 2026 we're marking something special. With support from Hamilton Ward 12 we have restored the grave of Enerals and Pricilla Griffin. Enerals was an early African American farmer in Ancaster (arriving in 1834) whose home is now the Griffin House National Historic Site. As a part of our service, we will be celebrating our connection to Ancaster and Hamilton's Black History. To learn more about Enerals, Pricilla and the Griffin family go to: https://hamiltoncivicmuseums.ca/griffin-house-national-historic-site/
