This Sunday, we want to thank all of the many volunteers who keep our church running! To show our appreciation, council members are serving ice cream to the congregation after the service. Take a moment this Sunday to find a volunteer and say “thank you” for all they do!

This Sunday, May 24, we celebrate Pentecost — the day the Holy Spirit was poured out on Jesus’ followers and the Church was born.

What’s incredible is that God no longer dwells only in a temple, but in his people. Through the Holy Spirit, God is with us, in us, equipping and empowering us to share the hope of Jesus with the world.

Join us as we celebrate the presence and power of the Holy Spirit together!

We had a great year in our GEMS girls program!

Some highlights included starting the year with a campfire kickoff, participating in a service project for Regina’s Place, and spending time in the workshop with the Cadets leaders.

Throughout the year, the girls enjoyed crafts, activities, and breakout groups as they learned about Jesus through this year’s theme: “Walk on Water.” We look forward to welcoming everyone back to GEMS in the fall!

Some highlights from our Cadets program this year!

This spring, the boys participated in Cadetorama, where they competed in the compass relay, car derby, and other activities alongside fellow cadet clubs. Earlier in the year, the group prepared frozen meals to support members of our congregation who may be in need of care and encouragement. Throughout their regular meetings, the boys spent time in the workshop, took part in hands-on projects and activities, and grew in their faith through this year’s theme: “Stand Firm.”

At youth group we have worked through a 4 part series on Prayer by Frances Chan and last night Annette Brinkman taught us the steps of Healing Prayer. Stories of healing were shared, including Betty’s knee! We also had a lot of fun playing crossnet pickleball.

Our Women’s CoffeeBreak group wrapped up the year with a spring brunch last week! It was a wonderful time of food and fellowship, ending with a fun Jeopardy-style trivia game based on our studies in 1 & 2 Samuel.

CoffeeBreak meets every Tuesday for Bible study, fellowship, coffee, and treats. Newcomers are always welcome! We're now on pause for the summer but we look forward to welcoming everyone back in September!

For Earth Day it was a privilege to have some of our youth partner with teens from Ancaster Community Services to clean up around the municipal buildings. There were some interesting finds along the way!

This spring we return to the “Kingdom Travelogue” of the apostles as we follow it in the book of Acts. In obedience to the Great Commission, the apostles of Jesus took the gospel to the people and nations of the world.

Last Sunday, Pastor Mark preached the first message in this series from Acts 16:6-18, following the Apostles to the Roman city of Philippi. Join us this spring as we travel with the apostles, and see the advancement of God’s Kingdom in all of life. By his Word and Spirit, God calls his own, they respond, and New Life begins.

In-person worship: Sundays 10:00 AM (70 Garner Rd. E. Ancaster)

Join us NEXT THURSDAY, APRIL 23 for part two of "Walking with People in Grief" led by Arlene Bennink, certified pastoral thanatologist. We will meet again at the church cafe from 7:00 to 8:45pm, as we focus on what we have learned (on Feb 26) from those who have experienced grief, and also consider some basic tools that may help us care for people in their grief.

All who are interested in supporting others in grief or loss of all forms are welcome to attend. You do not need to have attended the first session to attend this one. We hope to join us for this meaningful and important session.
