🕌✨ JUMU’AH MUBARAK ✨🕌

This Jumu’ah is extra special for our community.

🎉 Alhamdulillah! Amherst Masjid has officially been secured and the closing was completed on June 1. What once seemed impossible has become reality through the mercy of Allah ﷻ, the support of the Ummah, and countless du’as.

This house of Allah is now saved and will remain a masjid for generations to come, InshaAllah.

🤲 We invite everyone to join us this Friday and thank Allah for this tremendous blessing.

While we celebrate, our journey continues. To save this masjid, we relied on approximately $95,000 in Qarz-e-Hasna (interest-free loans), which must be repaid over the next few years. We also have important renovations ahead, including doors, windows, wudu facilities, washrooms, and security upgrades.

🎉 ALHAMDULILLAH! AMHERST MASJID IS SAVED! 🎉

By the infinite mercy of Allah ﷻ, the support of the wider Ummah, and the countless du’as made day and night, we are pleased to share that the closing has been completed and the property is now secured.

🕌 Amherst Masjid will remain a House of Allah for generations to come, InshaAllah.

What seemed impossible only weeks ago became possible through Allah’s help and the generosity of so many brothers and sisters who donated, shared our appeal, made du’a, and supported us in every way they could.

Jazakumullahu Khairan to every individual, family, organization, and community that stood with us during this critical time.

🤲 While we celebrate this milestone, our work is not finished.

To save this masjid, we had to secure approximately $95,000 in Qarz-e-Hasna (interest-free loans), which we must repay over the next 2–5 years, InshaAllah.

In addition, the masjid urgently needs:

🔹 A proper wudu area
🔹 Additional washroom facilities
🔹 Security and safety upgrades
🔹 Other necessary renovations

Alhamdulillah, through the support of the Ummah, we have already received $50,000 in Qarz-e-Hasna.

But we are still urgently short of $30,000 to secure the only masjid in Amherst, Nova Scotia before the final deadline of May 31.

🕌 This masjid was built by a small newcomer community who converted an old church into a house of Allah so the adhan, salah, and Islamic education could continue in this region.

We were almost about to lose this masjid…

By Allah’s mercy, we were given one final extension, but the owner made it clear: there will be NO further extensions.

🕌 This is the ONLY masjid in Amherst, serving a small Muslim community and nearby areas including Sackville, Aulac, Oxford, and Pugwash.

Most of our community members are newcomers. We are trying everything within our capacity, but we truly cannot do this without the support of the wider Ummah.
