This week at All Saints Parish, we celebrate Corpus Christi and reflect on the gift of the Holy Eucharist, the source and summit of our Christian life.

In this week’s bulletin, you’ll find Mass times for June 6–12, Eucharistic Adoration opportunities, Mass intentions, and a reflection from Fr. Charles Udeh on confirming our belief in the Holy Eucharist.

A few highlights this week:

June 12 is the World Day of Prayer for the Sanctification of Priests.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion training takes place Saturday, June 6 at St. John the Baptist, Springhill, following the 10:00 am Mass.

Holy Family CWL will host the 2026 CWL Provincial Convention on Saturday, June 13, with Opening Mass at 8:45 am at Holy Family Church.

The ASC Summer Conference is coming July 24–26 at Between the Hearts Renewal Center in Fort Lawrence. This year’s theme is “Awaken in Unity.”

Parishioners are also encouraged to remember our local foodbanks with donations of non-perishable food and personal care items, and to keep our parish prayer intentions in their personal prayer.

A message from Mary Simon Governor General!

“As we celebrate National Indigenous History Month, we honour the rich cultures, languages and identities of First Nations, Inuit and Métis.

Since I became governor general, I have seen progress and a growing commitment among Canadians through national and regional efforts toward reconciliation. This comes from acknowledging historical injustices, understanding our true history, and recognizing Indigenous knowledge and leadership in the choices we make as a country.

It has been a privilege for me to be a champion for so many important moments on Canada’s reconciliation journey: Indigenous leadership meetings with His Majesty King Charles III; artifacts repatriated from the Vatican and returned to their home communities; Elders and youth reviving Indigenous languages; and artists, innovators and leaders being honoured for their countless contributions.

This journey is not finished. There is still much work to be done. I encourage everyone to renew their commitment to learning, to understanding and to moving forward on this path with hope.” -

We extend our condolences to Bertha's family and friends as they mourn her passing.

We extend our condolences to Bertha's family and friends as they mourn her passing.

Bertha Georgina MacKay, 93, of Amherst, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Thursday May 28th, at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre.

Born in Sackville, NB, on August 17th 1932, she was the daughter of the late Alphonse and Elsie (Lirette) Legere.

With deep love, we say goodbye to our beloved Mother and family matriarch. A devout Catholic, and proud member of the YMCA and CWL for over 45 years, Bertha’s faith was the foundation of her life. She carried unwavering strength, kindness, and dedication in her heart - for her family, church, and community.

A model of wisdom, bold strength, and witty humour, she raised her three boys with great care. Her trusted presence brought comfort and connected all who were blessed to be in her life.

Bertha will be remembered for her deep devotion to her family and friends, for her generous spirit, and the countless ways in which she showed love. She was the heart of her family and her legacy will continue through all of us.

Bertha will be dearly missed by her son Nevin MacKay (Joyce Carlos), Sackville, NB; grandsons Mitchell MacKay, Sackville, NB, and Brody MacKay (Holly Larracy); and Cousin Robert “Bob” Lirette, Mass., U.S.A.

She is predeceased by her husband James, as well as her cousin Georgina Bainbridge.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Jones Family Funeral Centre, 70 Church St., Amherst, NS where visitation will take place on Monday, June 1, 2026 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at 11 AM at Holy Family Parish Church in Amherst, NS. Burial will take place in the Rockley Cemetery following a reception.

We find comfort in knowing her soul has completed its purpose here, and she can now rest and reunite with her departed loved ones.

Rest peacefully, Mom. We love you and will miss you forever.

Sharing of memories and condolences may be sent to the family by visiting Bertha's online memorial at www.jonesfamilyfuneralcentre.ca or through the Jones Family Funeral Centre page.
