This Sunday, December 10 at 10:30 we will take some time to honour Lizzie and Mike. I am gathering notes of encouragement, affirmation, and appreciation for them and I will compile them into a book for them to keep. Could you please consider sending them a note? Please email it to me at [email protected] or send a note to me through Facebook messenger. We’d love to include your thoughts and I know they would be deeply appreciated!

The Leadership team of Aldergrove Vineyard would like to share the difficult news that our church will be closing. We will have a Celebration and Closing service of Aldergrove Vineyard on January 14, 2024 at 10:00. This will be the last official gathering of this community.

If you have been part of this community, we would love to have you join us that morning. We meet at 27540 Fraser Highway in Aldergrove.

As a Leadership team and as a church we are all processing and experiencing a mix of emotions, and yet we have peace and confidence that we are in step with Holy Spirit, and that this is the right and last step for our small community.

You may wonder how we came to this decision. Obviously it’s a long story. Over the last few months there have been several key events and circumstances that have dovetailed to create a strong sense among those in leadership at Aldergrove Vineyard that Holy Spirit has been gently guiding us as a group towards making this difficult decision.

One key event was Mike and Lizzie Scott’ prayerfully considered decision to step away from leadership at AVC. It was a difficult one made in concert with Holy Spirit and trusted advisors. We as an LT would like to specifically say that we don’t see this difficult step of obedience to God to be in any way tinged with failure. On the contrary, we see this as simply the end of the Scotts’ assignment from God to lead Aldergrove Vineyard. They have served us so well, and we have been so grateful! We feel nothing but appreciation for their whole hearted servant leadership of our community and we say “Well done and thank you!” We are all looking forward to seeing where and how God will lead Mike and Lizzie to serve Him after a time of deep rest.

- Deanna Van Woudenberg on behalf of the Aldergrove Vineyard Leadership Team.

As it is the 5th Sunday of the month coming up in a few days, we are continuing with our “Adventure Sunday” - this means that in place of our usual service, we will be going out into our community.

Our time at Jackman Manor was such a success last time, and very welcomed by all the residents - that we have decided to go back there! The good news is that there are no longer any restrictions for vaccinations and masks.

Mike will be singing some songs again, but it is also great to have others who can sit with the residents, chat and pray. If you’d like to be involved in this, please drive directly to Jackman Manor (27477 28 Ave) for 9:50am. We will meet in the parking lot and pray before going in.

For those of you who would prefer to stay at our building, Deanna will be leading a time of prayer and sharing at the usual time of 10am at AV.

Blessings
