Sometimes, even as Christians we struggle to grasp how much we depend on God. After all, we don’t see Him and hear Him, so it is easy to perceive Him as distant. But we are reminded by Paul’s words that God not only created us, but He continuously sustains us. God didn’t just create us and then step aside. Rather, He actively maintains the universe, continuing to make a place for us to live and glorify Him.

Lord, thank you for calling me to Yourself, and for the life-giving presence of Your Holy Spirit. Give me strength so that I might cling to You and receive nourishment from You in prayer and through Your word. And as I grow, work through me so that You may use me to produce an abundant harvest for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, amen.

When we cry out to God, He hears us. When we seek deliverance, He rescues and protects us. When we need wisdom, He instructs us. And when we confess our sins, He forgives us and restores us because of His unending love for us. So let us join the psalmist in praising God for His faithful response to our prayers.

Father, thank You for providing so richly for me in so many ways. I can never repay all that You have given me, for all that I have is Yours. All I can ask is that You take me and use me. Please accept my gifts so that Your grace may be revealed in my actions and Your abundance may overflow through me to others. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Jesus, sometimes I wish I could reach out and take your hand, or even simply touch the hem of your cloak. Thank you for sending your Comforter, the Holy Spirit, to remain with me, to work in me, and to guide my life as I walk in step with you each day. Please conform me more each day to your likeness until this life’s journey is done and your perfection is completed in me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Lord, sometimes I find myself struggling to endure the trials and difficulties of life. I call out to You for an answer, but You ask me to endure. Lord, I do not want to waste this time of waiting. Please use this season to deepen my trust in You as You grow my faith and prepare me for even greater works ahead. In Jesus’ name, amen.
