DayBreak Community Church, Airdrie AB DayBreak Community Church of Airdrie is a group of people who love Jesus and are trying to be more like him every day.

Our Mission: To enrich lives with the good news of Jesus via relationships, education, and service. DayBreak Community Church of Airdrie is a group of Christ-followers whose primary objective is to share the persistent love of Jesus Christ with ALL people. We are people who are finding help, hope and healing in Jesus and desire to see other people encounter the kind of acceptance, assistance and g

rowth to be found via the Life offered through faith in Christ. While we respect all faith traditions, we unapologetically look to the example of Jesus, God’s Incarnate Word, as the author and director of how we practice our faith in twenty first-century Canada.

We are not saved because we are good enough. We are saved because Jesus is gracious enough. So stop exhausting yourself trying to earn acceptance.

Stop measuring yourself against others. Stop hiding behind performance. Come honestly to Christ.

Because grace is not for people who have everything together. Grace is for people who know they need a Savior. And the good news of the Gospel is this: The cross is enough.

We live in a world obsessed with proving worth. Children grow up trying to prove themselves to parents. Students try to prove themselves academically. Athletes try to prove themselves competitively. Adults try to prove themselves professionally. Even spiritually, many people spend their lives trying to prove themselves to God.

Understanding our goodness begins with understanding this: salvation was never built on our goodness in the first place. The Christian message is not: “Become impressive enough for God.”

The Christian message is: “You could never save yourself, so Jesus came to save you.” And that changes everything.

This Sunday, May 17, we invite you to our Family Service where kids, youth, and adults will worship together and engage in hands-on activities as we circle back to one of the main themes spoken of in James. Pastor Glenn will focus on demonstrating our faith through acts of love and service.

This week I want to encourage you with a few things:

👉Show kindness to someone overlooked
👉Meet a tangible need
👉Follow through on what you say

Remember this is not to earn your salvation or even to have God love you more. This is because your faith is alive.

James is asking: Is your faith visible? Is it active? Is it consistent?

Real faith is not invisible—it leaves a mark. It shapes how we see people and how we respond to them. It affects our instincts, our reactions, our priorities.

It shows up in how we treat people and how we live our lives.

Over the coming weeks, the book of James is going to challenge us in very specific ways:
* How do you respond when life gets hard?
* How do you handle temptation?
* What do your words reveal about your heart?
* Do you show favoritism or genuine love?
* Is your faith visible in your actions?

There will be moments that feel uncomfortable. Moments that feel confronting. Moments where the Spirit of God puts His finger on something in our lives.

So throughout this series, here’s the invitation: Don’t just attend this series. Engage it. Don’t just hear the Word. Respond to it.

We'd love to see you on Sunday morning at 10:00 AM.

Let’s be honest: we live in a time where it is easy for faith to become shallow. We can hear sermons without applying them. We can talk about love without showing it. We can speak truth without humility. We can claim belief without obedience.

James cuts through all of that. He calls us back to a faith that is: Active, not passive. Whole, not divided. Authentic, not performative.

This is a timely word for the church. Because the world is not just watching what we say — they are watching how we live.
