Here’s a look at what we’re covering with our Hillside Kids so you can help them continue to grow at home during the week!

THIS WEEK
This week, kids hear the true story of how even a shipwreck couldn't keep Paul from telling others about Jesus.
BIG IDEA: True story—God helps us share the good news.
BIBLE: Acts 27:13–44

ASK THIS
Because sometimes you need a conversation-starter that isn’t, “So… how was your kids thing?”
After the storm hit them, what was Paul's message to everyone on the ship?
What is the good news of Jesus?

NEXT WEEK
Next week, we're starting a new series! A 4-Week Series from Genesis on Creation called In The Beginning

MEMORY VERSE
This month, our Hillside Kids are memorizing the Bible verse Romans 1:16a (NIV), in case you want to work on it together.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes

✨ Some of the most familiar sayings aren’t always the most biblical.

This Sunday at Hillside, we’ll continue our Stuff You’ve Googled series with a message, “God Helps Those Who Help Themselves.”

Together, we’ll explore why the good news of Jesus isn’t about God rewarding the strong, capable, or self-sufficient, but about God meeting us in our need with His mercy, grace, and help.

🎶 Pastor Matt will be leading us in worship as we lift our hearts together.

🎉 It’s also Up Day at Hillside! We’ll be celebrating some important milestones in the lives of our young people as students move from Hillside Kids to Hillside Youth, and as graduates take their next steps beyond high school. It’s always a special opportunity to encourage, pray for, and celebrate these young people as a church family.

🙌 Sunday | 9am & 10:45am

THIS WEEK
This week, kids learn the true story of how Paul and Silas were joyful in prison.
BIG IDEA: True story—The Holy Spirit gives us power.
BIBLE: Acts 16:16–40

ASK THIS
Because sometimes you need a conversation-starter that isn’t, “So… how was your kids thing?”
What were Paul and Silas doing, even though they were in prison?
How can we help others through the power of the Holy Spirit, not just ourselves?

✨ This Sunday is Pentecost Sunday — a reminder that God does not leave us to follow Jesus in our own strength.

As we gather at Hillside, we’ll be praying for a fresh encounter with the Holy Spirit — asking God to renew, strengthen, and lead us as we continue to grow together.

Pastor Brad will continue our Stuff You’ve Googled series with a message called “Follow Your Heart.” Together, we’ll explore why that familiar advice sounds freeing, but often falls short — and how Jesus invites us into something deeper than simply following our feelings or instincts.

🎶 Tracy will be leading us in worship as we lift our hearts and make room for the Spirit of God to move among us.

🙌 Sunday | 9am & 10:45am
💻 Church@Home | 10:45am

Come expectant, come open, and come ready to encounter the presence of God together. We’d love to see you Sunday. 💛

This week, kids hear the true story of Peter’s miraculous escape from prison.
BIG IDEA: True story—God hears us when we pray.
BIBLE: Acts 12:1–17

ASK THIS
Because sometimes you need a conversation-starter that isn’t, “So… how was your kids thing?”
In the prison, how did the angel save Peter?
What do you want to pray to God for today?

✨ Some phrases sound spiritual, comforting, and familiar — but are they actually biblical?

This Sunday at Hillside, Pastor Brad is starting a brand-new series called Stuff You’ve Googled, where we’ll take a closer look at common sayings many of us have heard, shared, or wondered about — and ask what Scripture actually says.

We’ll begin with the phrase, “When God closes a door, He opens a window.” Together, we’ll explore how God leads us through disappointment, closed doors, and uncertainty — not with easy answers, but with His faithful presence and trustworthy guidance.

🎶 Ludovick will be leading us in worship as we lift our hearts together.

🙌 Sunday | 9am & 10:45am
💻 Church@Home | 10:45am

Come ready to worship, reflect, and discover how God’s Word speaks into the phrases we often reach for. We’d love to see you Sunday. 💛

Some things sound biblical… but are they?

In our new series, Stuff You’ve Googled, we’re looking at common phrases Christians say, where they come from, and whether they actually reflect the heart of Scripture.

Phrases like:
“When God closes a door, He opens a window.”
“God won’t give you more than you can handle.”
“Everything happens for a reason.”

Let’s open the Bible, ask honest questions, and discover what God actually says.

Join us this Sunday at Hillside.

Here’s a look at what we’re covering with our Hillside Kids so you can help them continue to grow at home during the week!

THIS WEEK
This week, kids hear the true story of how Ananias and Sapphira tried to deceive the Early Church.
BIG IDEA: True story—God helps us be righteous.
BIBLE: Acts 4:32–5:10

ASK THIS
Because sometimes you need a conversation-starter that isn’t, “So… how was your kids thing?”
Why did the Early Church make the decision to share all their possessions?
If God helps us be righteous, how can we help others be righteous, too (without being judgy)?

NEXT WEEK
Next week, kids hear the true story of Peter’s miraculous escape from prison.

MEMORY VERSE
This month, our Hillside Kids are memorizing the Bible verse Romans 1:16a (NIV), in case you want to work on it together.
