Bishop Christopher Harper of the Diocese of Saskatoon has been elected the next National Indigenous Anglican Archbishop.

Bishop Chris is Saskatchewan born, a member of Onion Lake Cree Nation, and a graduate of Toronto School of Theology - Wycliffe College. His parish ministries have included on reserve, off reserve and shared ministry with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada. His priestly ministries include the Dioceses of Saskatchewan, Algoma, and Toronto as the Indigenous Native Priest and Toronto Urban Native Ministry.

Bishop Chris has worked with many committees in the church; In the Anglican Church of Canada with the Council of General Synod, the General Synod Planning Committee, Provincial Synod, and Diocesan Executives for Saskatchewan and Algoma. As well, he has joined with Ecumenical and Interfaith Ministries and is a past member of the Anglican Council of Indigenous Peoples and the Anglican Indigenous Network. He presently sits as a member of Sacred Circle and with ecumenical partners on the Joint Anglican Lutheran Commission, LUARC (Lutheran, Ukrainian Orthodox, Anglican, Roman Catholic) Bishop’s circle, and Faith Working Group for the Province of Saskatchewan. Lastly, he is honoured to be Chancellor for College of Emmanuel and St. Chad.

Bishop Chris is widely travelled Nationally and Internationally and now happily calls Saskatoon home, where he lives with his wife of 42 years, Tracy. Together they have 2 children and 4 grandchildren.

The Reverend Dave Price retired as Vicar of All Saints, Agassiz at the end of 2020, but in his own words he is “retired, but not retired from life.” In May RevDave began working as an enumerator for this year’s census. He was motivated to contact a former colleague from Stats Can, Ms. Lauren.....
