Fraser Valley Buddhist Temple

Fraser Valley Buddhist Temple The Temple is built on land donated by Mr. Kazuo Imamura. It has served the Fraser Valley Jodo Shinshu Buddhist community for over 60 years.

We are part of the Jodo Shinshu Buddhist Temples of Canada, a group of Canadians that are followers of the Jodo Shinshu "Shin" sect of Buddhism. The JSBTC is affiliated with the Nishi Hongwanji of Kyoto, Japan, the mother temple of the Jodo Shinshu (True Pure Land) sect of Buddhism. The sect follows the teachings of Shinran Shonin (1173 - 1262). It is a teaching wherein we are endowed with the ult

imate goal of Enlightenment symbolized as the Pure Land. As Shin Buddhists, we seek to be humble and sincere in words and in deeds, to be responsible citizens of our society and to share with others the teachings of Jodo Shinshu.

Temple Support:
Please consider supporting our temple’s bottle drive by donating the deposits from your beverage containers to the FVBT. Place your empty juice, water, and alcohol containers into a clear plastic bag and take the bag to your local Return-It Express depot in BC. Enter the phone # 6043517183 at the kiosk and place the label it generates onto the bag and leave it on the counter. Be kind to the environment and help our temple – easy!
As a small temple with our members living everywhere from Hope BC to the West End of Vancouver, it has been difficult to come up with a safe alternate fundraising plan to our annual Fall Bazaar. Thank you to those who have continued to send in donations throughout this pandemic to support our temple and sangha. Donations may be mailed to FVBT at P.O. Box 1619, Aldergrove, BC, V4W 2V1.
