Gurmat Center Taking care of our future...today!

The Gurmat Center has been serving the Lower Mainland community for the past 30 years and is more committed than ever before to educated children and adults in the areas of Punjabi, Santhia (Nitnem and Guru Granth Sahib Ji), Sikh Philosophy, Gatka (Sikh Material Arts) and much more. We are continuing our trademark "katha" in English at our Sunday Youth & Family Darbar to help students gain greater

insight into the Sikh religion as well as the importance of our amazing culture. Over the years, the Darbar has inspired many students to become more aware of their rich heritage and glorious history, and is a great way to have your children connected to the greater school community. Class Time Table

All classes (Levels 1 to 6) are held in the evenings from 5:00-7:00 pm at the Gurmat Center (30640 Blueridge Drive Gurdwara Sahib Kalgidhar Darbar)

Punjabi Class Level 1- Monday or Tuesday
Punjabi Class Level 2- Thursday or Friday
Punjabi Class Level 3- Tuesday & Wednesday

Nitnem Santhia Level 4
Monday & Thursday or Tuesday & Friday

Sikh History and Philosophy Level 5 - Friday

Guru Granth Sahib Santhia Level 6 (Part 1) - Monday and Wednesday
Guru Granth Sahib Santhia Level 6 (Part 2) - Monday and Wednesday

Gatka Class (10:00 - 12:30) - Sunday

Kirtan Level 1 - Tuesday (7:00-8:00 pm)
Kirtan Level 2 - Wednesday (7:00-8:00 pm)
Kirtan Level 3 - Monday (7:00-8:00 pm)

This month, we are welcoming special guest speaker Bhai Mohan Singh. As a leading advocate recognized by the World Sikh Organization, Basics of Sikhi, and the BC Gurdwara Council, he will be leading a crucial discussion on community safeguarding, addiction, and protecting vulnerable populations.

Our Level 4 Nitnem Santhia students enjoyed the engaging Sakhis, Sikhiyava, and learning about the legacy of Bhagat Jaswant Singh Ji.🌻✨

Students learned how Gurbani is practical through Pangti Jaap and practicing Namaskaaran while reciting Jaap Sahib - the Bani they just received Santhia of!🌸
