Celebrate National Indigenous Languages Day!

Today, we celebrate National Indigenous Languages Day and call on the Government of Canada to fully implement the Indigenous Languages Act and support the reclamation, revitalization, maintenance and strengthening of First Nations languages. Our languages carry culture, identity, and knowledge passed through generations. We honour the tireless work of First Nations language champions and advocates who led the way in reclaiming, revitalizing, and strengthening these languages, ensuring they thrive for future generations. Learn more about our advocacy work: https://ow.ly/9Ljr50YBgL3.

Discover the rich resource library from the Office of the Commissioner of Indigenous Languages and learn how you can support and engage with First Nations language programs: https://ow.ly/Q2vk50YBgL5. Let’s keep our voices strong.
