*ENGLISH TRANSLATION BELOW*
Se habala de un hombre llamado Guillermo Carey (1761-1834) a quien se le conoce como el padre de las misiones. Hijo de tejedores, se convirtió en un maestro y zapatero poco exitoso, mientras aprendía solo griego, hebreo y latín. Años después, cumplió su sueño de ir como misionero a la India. Pero enfrentó dificultades: la muerte de su hijo, problemas de salud mental de su esposa, y durante años, falta de resultados en la obra.
Pero, este seguia sirviendo a Dios, aun en medio de todos estos problemas. ¿Qué lo mantenía sirviendo mientras traducía toda la Biblia a seis idiomas y partes de ella a otros veintinueve? «Puedo seguir avanzando —decía—. Puedo perseverar en cualquier objetivo definido». Se comprometió a servir a Dios sin importar las pruebas que enfrentara.
Esta devoción y amor hacia Dios y a su hijo, nuestro Salvador es lo que aconsejó el escritor de Hebreos. v.10 Porque Dios no es injusto para olvidar vuestra obra y el trabajo de amor que habéis mostrado hacia su nombre, habiendo servido a los santos y sirviéndoles aún.
v.11 Pero deseamos que cada uno de vosotros muestre la misma solicitud hasta el fin, para plena certeza de la esperanza,
v.12 a fin de que no os hagáis perezosos, sino imitadores de aquellos que por la fe y la paciencia heredan las promesas. (Hebreos 6: 10-12)
En sus últimos años, Guillermo Carey reflexionó sobre la constante provisión de Dios: «Él nunca falló con sus promesas, así que yo no puedo fallar en mi servicio a Él». Waoh, que ejemplo de seguir!
Que te parece iglesia, crees que podemos hacer lo mismo nosotros? Sirvir a Nuestro Dios no importando los obstaculos que nos vengan. Te animo a seguir adelante. Juntos podemos mas para la gloria de nuestro Dios. No te rindas, tu puedes. Sigue adelante. Pronto tendras tu recompensa.

A man named William Carey (1761-1834) who is known as the father of missions was a son of weavers that became a shoemaker with little success. While Carey was working in the shoemaking business, he taught himself Greek, Hebrew and Latin. Years later, he fulfilled his dream of going as a missionary to India but faced many difficulties such as: the death of his son, his wife's mental health problems, and for years, lack of progress at work. Nevertheless, he was still serving God even in the midst of all of these problems. What kept him serving while translating the whole Bible to six languages and parts of it to another twenty nine? "I can keep moving forward," he said, "I can persevere in any definite pursuit." He promised to serve God no matter the tests that he would face. This devotion and love to God and his son, our Saviour is what the writer of Hebrews advised, "10God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them. 11We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, so that what you hope for may be fully realized. 12We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised. (Hebrews 6:10-12). In his last years, William Carey reflected on the constant provision of God, "He never failed with his promises, so I cannot fail in my service to Him!" Wow, what an example to follow! What do you think church? Do you think we can do the same? Serve our God no matter the obstacles that come our way? I encourage you to be persistent. Together we can do more for the Glory of our God. Don't give up, you can do it! Keep going. Soon you will have your reward.
