Our zoom gatherings comprise of welcome, announcements, an interview, Visio Divina, communion, talk and Q&R (question & response) with this line up of folks taking part.
Eden Jersak will be hosting and will be interviewing Kathi Renault.
Herta Klassen will be leading Visio Divina using some images she has created.
Mark & Lea Greenshields will be leading communion.
Sarah Pickering will be speaking from Matthew 6:1-4, her talk has the title: When you give - and we’ll look at what Jesus has to say about generosity and helping others out.
And then Q&R when everyone gets to contribute as well.

We hope that you will join us in the zoom space. Zoom is a space where we all get to hear each other and that’s a gift as everyone adds their wisdom and curiosity to the mix.

It’s all worship as we gather together but we save singing together for the times when we are in person. The way we connect with worship when on zoom is to use a Visio or occasionally a Lectio Divina. Herta Klassen will be leading us in a Visio Divina today using these mandala drawings that she has created.

We are going to be all together in zoom this Sunday. Sarah Pickering is speaking on the next part of the Sermon on the Mount: Matthew 6:1-4 where Jesus makes a bunch of assumptions. We’ll have a look together.

How do you feel about giving? What assumptions do you make about it? Bring your thoughts and feelings to the gathering and help make the whole experience richer in our shared zoom space.

Pull up a chair - either virtually through your computer screen or come and sit in one that we’ve laid out for you in THE ROOM AT EMMANUEL MENNONITE CHURCH

Here’s how a Sunday in our hybrid mode flows…

Lovely folks will arrive early to set everything up
Coffee will be on and ready to pour.
We start with coffee from 10:20am in the foyer
At 10:30am we have welcome and a prayer, hosted by Eden Jersak followed by sung worship, this week led by Philip & Brenda Janz.
Eden will take us through really quick family news before we focus on our Myrna and a bake and art sale to raise money for a charity she loved.

If you are joining us online, hop in at 10:20am, Sarah Pickering will be managing zoom from the room and Diane Janzen will be your remote host during coffee break where she will offer an opportunity to share communion together too.

Jeff Kornelsen will be speaking - his talk is titled ‘Loving Indiscriminately” from the Sermon on the Mount teaching of Jesus in Matthew 5:38-48. We will wrap up with Q&R with everyone.

We start with coffee in the foyer at 10:20am, please bring your own mug. Enter via the front (south) doors and enjoy a cup of coffee on your way in, or if you would prefer to slip in (or are running a little later) then you can enter via the back (north) door. If you miss the pre-gathering coffee, it’ll be back in the middle!

We’d love you to bring your own mug, because that way we don’t add some more paper/plastic into the environment. Every little helps! To that end, we have some mugs that Myrna Remple left for us to use. Coffee was Myrna’s thing!

This Sunday - in the space where we do announcements/interview/coffee break we are having a Bake Sale to raise money for a charity that was very close to Myrna’s heart - she called Albania her happy place! Please bring baking, some cash (or you can e-transfer the charity directly) and a story if you have one to share either yourself or written if you’d prefer someone else to read it.

We are gathering IN PERSON+, which means we will be in the room at Emmanuel Mennonite Church and simultaneously on zoom.

This weekend Jeff Kornelsen will be talking about ‘Loving Indiscriminately’ from Matthew 5:38-48. Have a read for yourself and bring your thoughts, ideas, and questions for our shared conversation.

The children will be going out with the grown ups and kids from EMC.
