Obey God

Read Exodus 1:15–17, 20–21

Would you steal if your friends encouraged you to do so? Would you cheat on a test because your friends wanted the answers? Or do you obey God rather than people? When you’re tempted to sin, ask God to give you strength to obey him. Then do it; he’ll bless you for it.

Ask 5:29.

We must obey God rather than men.

Attend Bible school

Read Psalm 34:3–8

Do you think you won’t like church or Bible school? And you’re missing so much! Try Bible school or church or Bible club. Listen to what God says in his word. You may want to know more and more.

Echo God’s love

Read first Thessalonians 1:4–10

Is anyone hearing about Jesus as you echo God’s word in his love? It’s your privilege and responsibility to be God’s echo.

How can they hear without someone preaching to them?

Keep your speech.

Matthew 12:36–37.

Do you avoid using swear words? Good! But how about words like goalie, gosh, G or darn? You could let your friends know that not everyone uses those words – you don’t.

Screen what you hear

Read Philippians 4:4–9.

Do you close your ears when you hear, bad language, dirty jokes, or suggestions to do something wrong? Do you open them again when your parents or Teachers asked you to do something? Please God in the way you use your ears.

Don’t be a hypocrite

Read Matthew 23:25–28.

Do you put on a nice act in front of people and then grumble behind their backs? If you’re letting Jesus make you more than like him, you won’t have to be two-faced.

Matthew 23:26.

First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean.

Let God save you

Read John one: 14–18.

Has God made a breakthrough into your life? Have you trusted Jesus as your Lord and Savior? If not, don’t wait. Trust him right now.

John 1:14

The word became flesh and dwell among us full of grace and truth.

Christians represent Jesus

Read first Peter 2:11–25.

Are you a Christian? If so, are you a faithful representative of Christ? What does he see in your life? He wants to see love, honesty, obedience, joy, peace, patience, kindness – and all of the good traits that were in his life. Jesus, himself, is the example for you to follow.

First Timothy 4:12

Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, and faith, impurity.
