On Friday, or MAP student, Beth, wrapped up our Daniel sermon series with a message from Daniel 5:1-31.
BIG IDEA: Pride Requires God’s Righteous Judgement
MAIN POINTS:
1. Pride brings judgement
2. God's judgment is just
APPLICATION:
1. Unbeliever: If you have not received Christ, the same judgment that fell on Belshazzar will fall on you. But here is the hope: Christ has taken that judgment upon Himself. Put your faith in Jesus, who paid for your pride through His death on the cross.
2. Belshazzar’s pride led to death - Our pride led to Jesus’s death. Who died on the cross to pay for our pride - receive Christ!
2. Believer: Examine the pride in your life. We know that pride is deceptive: it comes in the form of self-focus, self-sufficiency, superiority, People-Pleasing and Fear of Man - is your view of God higher than your view of itself.
