On Friday, or MAP student, Beth, wrapped up our Daniel sermon series with a message from Daniel 5:1-31.

BIG IDEA: Pride Requires God’s Righteous Judgement

MAIN POINTS:
1. Pride brings judgement
2. God's judgment is just

APPLICATION:
1. Unbeliever: If you have not received Christ, the same judgment that fell on Belshazzar will fall on you. But here is the hope: Christ has taken that judgment upon Himself. Put your faith in Jesus, who paid for your pride through His death on the cross.

2. Belshazzar’s pride led to death - Our pride led to Jesus’s death. Who died on the cross to pay for our pride - receive Christ!
2. Believer: Examine the pride in your life. We know that pride is deceptive: it comes in the form of self-focus, self-sufficiency, superiority, People-Pleasing and Fear of Man - is your view of God higher than your view of itself.

Last Friday, our NYA Coordinator, Alfred, spoke on Daniel 4:19-37 with the message, "The Sovereign King."

Main Points:
1. The Decree
2. The Humiliation
3. The Restoration

Application Questions:
1. Christian: Where in your life are you resisting God’s rule? It may be one, or even multiple areas, but in light of what you know about Christ, how will you respond?
2. Non-Christian: We were never meant to be in God’s position of glory and power. He is the one true King, and you are not. Will you accept him as that? In light of what you know about Christ, how will you respond?
