Desire Of All Nations CALLED TO PREACH THE GOSPEL OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST

20/06/2024

The church lost it's potency, no love for one another, it's only for pleasure and selfish benefits.
Evangelism lost it's potency, it's no longer 'come to Christ but come to my church'

God give us strength to keep our Faith in Him no matter what.

Christians lets leave 'our churches' and lead people to Christ.

FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT

Galatians 5:22-23-“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”

The “fruit of the Spirit” is given to us in opposition to the “works of the flesh” in Galatians 5:19-21. Notice while “works” is a plural word, “fruit” is singular. While there are nine characteristics of this fruit, there is only ONE fruit. For someone to say that his fruit of the Spirit is “peace”, that would be wrong. If a believer is truly walking in the Spirit, he will exhibit the whole of the fruit of the Spirit. With that said, let us consider each aspect of the fruit of the Spirit as found in Galatians 5:22-23

• LOVE – This is not a common, fleshly love. It is the love of God being manifested in our lives. Romans 5:5 tells us, “…the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.”

• JOY – This speaks of how we rejoice in the things of the Lord and are delighted to know Him and to walk with Him. “Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory.” (1 Peter 1:8)

• PEACE – Because of what the Lord Jesus has done for us as our redeemer, we are at peace with God and have His peace in our hearts as we read in Romans 5:1, “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Because we have peace with God, we can also “have peace one with another.” (Mark 9:50).

• LONGSUFFERING – This has to do with patience in the midst of afflictions, persecutions, etc. We can be longsuffering (instead of being short suffering) because to endure such suffering will produce strength and maturity in us. James 1:2-3 says, “My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.”

• GENTLENESS – (Kindness) The Bible admonishes us to be gentle with others. “…be gentle unto all men…” (2 Timothy 2:24). “…be ye kind one to another…” (Ephesians 4:32). We do this no matter how others may treat us. Walking with the Spirit, we are able to imitate the “kindness and love of God our Saviour…” (Titus 3:4).

• GOODNESS – As believers, surely, we should be good all the time. This goodness has to do with doing good things to others. It is seeking to benefit others with the love of God. It was said of the Lord Jesus in Acts 10:38 that He, “…went about doing good…”

• FAITH – This word is actually speaking of us being faithful to the Lord, trusting His love and power in all situation and trials…following Him in every circumstance. Proverbs 28:20 assures us that, “A faithful man shall abound with blessings…”

• MEEKNESS – This will allow us to take a lowly place among others to that we might serve their needs as led of the Lord. “…in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves...” (Philippians 2:3). We cannot possibly serve one another if we esteem ourselves better than them.

• TEMPERANCE – This means self-control. By the Spirit, we have the ability to control our temper, our tongue, our words. We can control our lusts, our passions, our thoughts, our envying. If you look back and read of the works of the flesh in Galatians 5:19-21, you will recognize that all these things show a lack of self-control. Walking according to the Spirit allows us to take control and not give into the lusts of the flesh. Galatians 5:16 tells us, “This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.”

If you examine this nine-fold fruit of the Spirit, you will see they are manifestations of the Lord Jesus, Himself. He exhibited each of these in His life as He walked in obedience to His Father’s will. When we walk (live) in the Spirit, we are able to imitate the life of our Savior. 1 Peter 2:21-23 instructs us, “For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, LEAVING US AN EXAMPLE, THAT YE SHOULD FOLLOW HIS STEPS: Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously.”

MATTHEW 25:40-46
And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

1 Corinthians 13:8, “(Love) never faileth…”

Such wonderful characteristics of love. As believers on the Lord Jesus Christ, we should exhibit these characteristics because, “…the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.” (Romans 5:5).

This sustaining love of God will NEVER fail us. So many things and people in the world will let us down at times…not the love of God.

1 John 4:9, “In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.” – The peerless, effectual love of God is manifested TO us by His death FOR us.

Romans 8:38-39, “For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” – The irrevocable love of God is fixed upon us with the promise that “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” (Hebrews 13:5).

Jeremiah 31:3, “The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.” This eternal, compelling love of God gives us comfort, assurance, and power.

God’s love for us will never fail us. May we rely upon His love and seek to share it with others.

The world needs to see the love of God in His children. May we look to Him and allow His love to show in our lives. What does God’s love look like? We just looked at a few characteristics.

“How good is the God we adore,
Our faithful, unchangeable friend,
Whose love is as great as His power,
And knows neither measure nor end!”

LET LOVE LEAD

1 Corinthians 13:7, “(Love) beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.”

LOVE COVERS, OR DOESN’T REVEAL, THE FAULTS OF OTHERS – In this caring love, there is no desire to humiliate others by sharing their sins or faults with others. 1 Peter 4:8 says, “And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.” In this love, there is a desire to minister to others rather than hurt them.

LOVE IS BELIEVING AND LOOKS FOR THE BEST IN OTHERS – This trusting love is not suspicious of others. It will believe as long as it is possible to do so.

LOVE’S HOPE NEVER ENDS – This confident love remains steadfast during difficult times. Romans 8:25 says, “But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.” Love’s hope will cause us to have patience.

LOVE NEVER GIVES UP – This patient love remains throughout all circumstances without weakening. It will bear up under persecutions, mistreatments, trials, afflictions without losing its endurance.

We might say that love never gives up on people. It never stops trusting, it never loses hope, and it never quits.

Such wonderful characteristics of love. As believers on the Lord Jesus Christ, we should exhibit these characteristics because, “…the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.” (Romans 5:5).

The world needs to see the love of God in His children. May we look to Him and allow His love to show in our lives.

WHY JESUS MENTIONED 5 OF 10 COMMANDMENTS?
Let’s read Luke 18:18-23
“And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God. Thou knowest the commandments, DO NOT COMMIT ADULTERY, DO NOT KILL, DO NOT STEAL, DO NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS, HONOUR THY FATHER AND THY MOTHER. And he said, All these have I kept from my youth up. Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me. And when he heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very rich.”

We often refer to this man as a “rich young ruler” because this portion points out that he was a ruler and that he was rich.

Matthew 19:22 tells us he was a young man. This man had a desire to have eternal life but thought it could be earned or inherited. He called the Lord, “Good Master,” but it seems he did not know who the Lord Jesus really was, but simply assumed He was a great teacher.
Matthew 19:19 shows us that the Lord also said to this rich young ruler, “Honor thy father and thy mother: and, THOU SHALT LOVE THY NEIGHBOUR AS THYSELF.”
To answer this man’s question, the Lord mentioned five of the Ten Commandments.
He did not mention the first four commandments which speak of our relationship with the Lord. Those are:
• You shall have no other gods before Me.
• You shall not make idols.
• You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.
• Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
The Lord quoted the commandments which speak of how we are to treat our fellow man. It’s not that the Lord was telling this man that if he obeyed the Law he would be saved, for we read in Galatians 2:16 that, “…a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ…”
Rather, the Lord was using the Law to bring this man to repentance by realizing he had broken God’s Law. This self-righteous man declared that he had always kept the Law…which he had not!
Upon hearing this man’s words of righteousness, the Lord challenged him to prove his obedience to the Law. If he truly kept all the law and truly loved his neighbor as himself, he would sell all that he had, and would give the money to the poor.
It is so easy to claim to be obedient. It is so easy to claim to love others, but when challenged to show that love to others, it becomes very difficult. This young man realized he did not love his neighbors like he loved himself. He was very rich and could not bear to part with his riches.
Matthew 18:24 shows us the Lord’s reaction. That says, “And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!”
That day, both the rich young ruler and the Lord Jesus were “very sorrowful.” The ruler was sorrowful because, although he wanted eternal life, it came at a price higher than he was willing to pay. The Lord Jesus was sorrowful because He loved this man.
Mark 10:21 tells us, “Then Jesus beholding him loved him…” The Lord loved this man and wanted to give him eternal life, but the man walked away. How tragic.

Do you realize the Lord loves you and wants to save you? The price? PUT YOUR FAITH IN THE LORD JESUS FOR YOUR SALVATION.
Romans 10:9 says, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
I implore you NOT to walk away from the Lord and His love for you. Do you want to be saved and have eternal life? Do not put the cares or wealth of this world between you and the Lord. Put your faith in Him and you will live forever!
John 5:24 is a sure promise from God, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
