However, through Adam's disobedience, humanity lost its rulership and dominion. The authority that God had entrusted to man was compromised by sin. Adam's generation was not the only one that failed; the generation of Noah also turned away from God. Their wickedness became so great that God chose to judge the earth and wipe out that generation through the flood.
