Scripture: Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
“Two are better than one because they have a good reward for their labour.”
In life, we need someone who can encourage us, especially when we are going through difficult situations. We need someone who will stand by us and be there for us. We are our brothers’ keepers, and no one should feel that they have to face everything alone.
When two people are in agreement, they are stronger together than they are individually. Even in marriage, a husband and wife need one another. There are things that we can accomplish by ourselves, but there are also things that we can not accomplish alone. This is why we need one another as people. Two are better than one.
Many of us have problems, but one of our greatest problems is that we do not know how to build and maintain healthy relationships. Where there is agreement, there is power—the power of unity. Where there is no agreement, there is division. God works where there is unity and agreement.
Relationships are very important. We need people who can keep us warm when life becomes cold. We need people who can help us in our businesses, encourage us, and add value to our lives. Whether something good or bad happens in our lives, we need someone who can stand with us. We need someone who can lift us up when we fall and help us when we are struggling.
We also need people who are not around us for their own gain, but who genuinely care about us. When we help and take care of others, God can use those relationships to release blessings into our lives. We should learn to take care of one another and be willing to help those around us.
Two are better than one because they have a good reward for their labour. Let us value our relationships—for the sake of our children, our families, our progress, and our lives. We can not live a fulfilling life without friendship, love, and meaningful relationships.
The Bible teaches us that we are our brothers’ keepers. When our brother or sister is crying, we should help them rather than make fun of their situation. We should learn to support one another and maintain our relationships.
Sometimes, we see someone who is struggling, and we simply walk away. Instead, we should be willing to help without expecting anything in return. There may be someone who is trapped in a difficult situation and can not get out on their own. Just as someone outside a well would be needed to help the person inside, we also need one another to get through difficult situations.
