MESSAGE: THE GROOMING OF THE PROUD
(KGODISO YA BAIKGOGOMOSI)
Are you aware that in today’s generation we are raising our children in pride?
In today’s generation are you aware that most of our children whom we have given birth to or whom we are grooming, we are raising them or nurturing them towards pride or in pride?
We must be very mindful of that and the danger it is brooding.
Romans 9 vs 10-13
When Rebeccah was pregnant by our father Issac. While the children were still in their mother’s belly, not yet being born or knowing anything. Having not trespassed against any person. These children were not yet born, and God was not looking at their works but so that the purpose of his calling might stand.
It was said unto Rebeccah that the elder shall serve the younger. When God was calling, he did not care about the works at that time. When he was choosing while they were in their mother’s belly, God was not concerned about what they have done at that particular time, he was not focusing on what they have done while they are in their mothers belly but that the purpose of him according to election may stand.
The children had not yet done anything as they were still in their mother’s belly, and it is not like God was not focusing on works, at that time he did not care what work was done at that time. The works would be done later, the very work that defend the election. His purpose of election was precisely focusing on his calling as God, the qualities that qualifies a person for God’s calling.
When God was saying the elder shall serve the younger, he did not mean, he shall serve the younger in the belly. When God was talking about works, he was talking about the children being within the belly of their mother, his works is for that particular time of selecting. God has already selected the leader while they have not yet done anything. The choosing took place at that particular time, but leadership was for the future. What God was communicating here was that he has already gone to their future. He was trying to reveal to the mother that though the children had not done anything now, they have done something in the future, God had already gone to their future.
The hate and the love of God on the children was not based on the current but on the future. He was not concerned about what the children were doing at that time, but that which they will do in the future.
Genesis 25 vs 24- 34
The twins were born. Esau came first and he came out red, all over like a hairy garment, and after that the younger one Jacob came out and his hand took hold on Esau’s heel. As Esau and Jacob grew, Esau became a cunning hunter and Jacob became a livestock breeder, he looked after sheep. Most of the time when Jacob was looking after his sheep he would also spend most of his time listening to his father and mother sharing the word of God and Esau did not care as most of his focus was on hunting. Jacob loved God.
Issac loved Esau and Rebeccah loved Jacob. The father’s love was not genuine, it was an influence of what he was benefiting. He loved the meat that was being hunted by Esau. Rebeccah loved Jacob because he would spend most of his time with her sharing the word of God. The love for meat of Issac made him to overlook other things, that Esau was not conscious/ about the things of God. It made him to forget that the boy did not have the knowledge of God, he became very ignorant of the young one who always inquired about God’s word and his main focus was on the meat Esau brought from hunting.
How you love God will determine your destiny with God. How you care about the things of God will determine your destiny with God. God does not love everyone, he loves any man who loves him, if you specialize in the things of his kingdom, serve him, give him attention, pray to him, read the word and do the things that are of God, he will love you. (Proverbs 8 vs 17)
Vs 29
Jacob was cooking pottage and Esau came from hunting and he was hungry.
Vs 30
He was not patient enough to wait to cook for himself. He wanted to eat what was already served there. He therefore then asked Jacob to feed him what he had already cooked and that is why Esau was called Edom.
When God said the older one shall serve the younger, he saw this day, when he prophesied the children from their belly, he was provoked at what transpired and he started hating the older one. Jacob knew and he cherished birthrights, but Esau did not care about it, and he did not know what would happen if you are born first. He did not know that from Adam until his father, God always chose the first born. He never knew about the works of God or the operation of God.
Vs 31
Jacob then told Esau to sell him his birthright and in return he will give him the pottage he prepared.
Vs 32
Esau then agreed and said what profit will the birthright do to him, as it was nothing to him.
Vs 33
Jacob then asked Esau to swear to him and he swore unto him, and he sold his birthright to Jacob and in heaven it was approved as it was a trading.
Vs 34
Esau then ate and drank. He hated his birthright. He did not know that he lost everything to Jacob because of his hunger.
There are families that are very proudful, the mother is a proudful woman and the father is a proudful man, when they groom their child they groom that child in that environment of pride, that child is going to grow up with pride and in all the days of that child he will never taste humility.
Do you know that there are some families or people who do not know what humility is and have never tasted humility, they die in pride. Issac also due to the love of venison that was brought by his son Esau he ignored the relationship between God and Esau, he did not care whether Esau had a relationship with God or not. What he cared for was what Esau was bringing on the table. He never sat down with Esau to have a conversation about God. He never trained Esau on the commandments and the statutes of God. Esau grew up an ignorant and proud child. He was too proud forgetting that the birthright was given to him by God yet he despised it and respected food more that his birthright, hence he sold his birthright.
Some parents can’t even reprove their children by flogging them. Some parents can’t flog their children as a means to correct their errors. Just because of the high life they are claiming they are giving to their child they don’t see they are raising a prideful child and tomorrow the very same thing is going to bring trouble to the society. The very same child will be bragging and mocking people who serve God, the very same child will be numbered among killers of the saints. One day the very same child will hold a certain big position, and the devil is going to use him to rise against God because of pride and because he has never been exposed to the things of God.
Isaiah 3 vs 5
A subject or a servant will behave themselves otherwise in front of their master just because of pride. They will not be subject to their masters and the children will be disobedient to parents because of pride.
Jeremiah 13 vs 15
Don’t be proudful.
Vs 16
God is telling people not to be proudful because he might turn their light into darkness at any time, they will die at any time. While you are still bragging in your pride that you can still drink alcohol, you can still move around and play God might kill you.
Malachi 3 vs 13
The prophet of God then encouraged the congregation to never stop worshipping God when they don’t see any change or blessing in their lives and to never take worshipping God for granted because we are not worshipping God so that we can be rich, but so that we can preserve our souls and lives. He encouraged the congregation to never grow weary of worshipping God, and to preach the gospel even to their close relatives.
Vs 15
The people who are proudful are considered happy. The proudful are speaking evil about God. Every time it always appear as if the ungodly are prospering and living a food life and that even if they speak evil of God, everything goes well with them, don’t be deceived by that and grow weary of serving your God.
Vs 16
Whenever you talk about God he is hearing it, and he sees you. Every time when you talk about God there is something which is being written about you in the book of remembrance which is before God. Just by also thinking about God it is being written.
Vs 17
Such kind of people will be of God. There is a day in which God will be making up his jewels and he is going to spare them.
Vs 18
A person who serves God is a righteous man and a person who don’t serve God is a wicked man.
2 Timothy 3 vs 2
In our days man will be loving themselves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful and unholy. The prophet also encouraged the congregation to try and not be sported among the works of the ungodly as Christians. (2 Timothy 2 vs 19)
Churches can also groom the proud. Not being humble. Not reprimanding bad behaviors in churches can groom the proud.
James 1 vs 27
We should live a life that is unspotted. Avoid being seen by the world or doing the works of this world.
James 4 vs 6-7
God resist the proud. He rejects those that have pride and giveth grace unto the humble.
Vs 7
You must ensure that you submit yourself to God always. Don’t be proud and in everything submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
1 Peter 5 vs 5
When you are a young person submit yourself unto an elder, when they talk to you, rebuke you and correct you, you should obey. Also be subject one to another, meaning even though you are old and maybe you are doing something that shows pride or something that is contrary to God’s commandment and a child comes to advice you be subject to that, humble yourself and correct your way.
Don’t always focus on your clothes for covering, be clothed with humility for God resist the proud and gives grace to the humble.
