The countdown is on, and we can hardly contain our excitement!

A truly historic moment in the life of our Diocese is fast approaching, a celebration that no one can afford to miss. As we eagerly await this grace-filled occasion, let us continue to keep our Bishop-Elect in our prayers.

May the Lord grant him wisdom, strength, humility and peace as he prepares to shepherd God's people.

1. This week our Wednesday Holy Mass will be at Johane Mokolobetsi SCC

2. Members of the CWA will visit our parish and will present a gift to Fr Mosalagae during the 10am Holy Mass.

3. Members of the parish pastoral council and the Episcopal Ordination committee representative will have a meeting at the parish hall after the 10am Holy Mass. All members are encouraged to attend.

4. The merchandise for the Ordination is now available for purchase, it includes hats, mugs, lanyards, keyrings, golf shirts, T-shirts, caps and pens. Kindly see Farai Musungwa, Gabriel Isaacs or the parish admin office during the week for assistance

Today, the Church rejoices in the immeasurable love and mercy flowing from the Heart of our Saviour. May the Sacred Heart of Jesus renew our hearts, strengthen our faith, and fill our families with peace and love.

"Behold this Heart which has so loved men."

As we celebrate this beautiful feast, let us entrust ourselves completely to His loving Heart and strive to imitate His compassion, humility and mercy.

THE SOLEMNITY OF THE MOST HOLY
BODY AND BLOOD OF CHRIST

Today, the faithful joyfully celebrated the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi). United in faith and devotion, we walked through the streets in a public witness of our belief in the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist.

As we carried Christ among His people, we were reminded that the Eucharist is the source and summit of our Christian life, nourishing us and strengthening us to be His disciples in the world.

May the Body and Blood of Christ continue to unite us in love, deepen our faith, and inspire us to be living witnesses of His Gospel.

1. This week our Wednesday Holy Mass will be at St Peter SCC

2. Parishioners who still have the Episcopal Ordination family contribution forms are kindly requested to submit the forms together with their contributions as soon as possible.

3. In preparation for the Episcopal Ordination, all youth and young adults are requested to come and clean the parish hall on Saturday 13 June 2026 at 1400hrs. Kindly bring your cleaning materials.

4. The Executive Committee will meet on Thursday 11 June 2026 after Holy Mass and the full council meeting will be held on Sunday 14th June 2026 after the 10am Holy Mass.

5. All Women are asked to meet briefly after Holy Mass at the parish hall.

6. The Youth and Young adults are requested to meet briefly after Mass (at the back pews)

7. The Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Sodality will be celebrated on Friday 12 June 2026. Holy Mass will be at 1730hrs. All parishioners a invited to join in the celebration.

From the heart of Our Lady of the Desert Cathedral, a prayer rises:

Lord, bless Your servant, Monsignor Lawrence Ofentse Pheto. Fill him with the grace of the Holy Spirit as he prepares to receive the fullness of the priesthood through Episcopal Ordination.

May his ministry bring hope to the weary, strength to the faithful, and the light of Christ to all.

SOLEMNITY OF THE MOST HOLY TRINITY AND FEAST DAY OF OUR PARISH

Yesterday , on the Solemnity of the Holy Trinity, our parish family gathered in faith and thanksgiving to celebrate the Feast Day of Our Lady of the Desert Cathedral.

The combined Holy Mass brought together parishioners, sodalities, movements, and various church groups in a beautiful expression of unity as we worshipped the One God in Three Divine Persons – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The celebration reminded us of our call to live in love, communion, and service, following the perfect example of the Holy Trinity.

In his homily Fr Anthony Mosalagae stressed that we honored Our Lady of the Desert, we entrusted our parish, families, and community to her loving maternal care, asking for her continued intercession and guidance as we journey in faith.

Following the Holy Mass, the celebrations continued with a joyful Bring and Share session, where parishioners came together to share meals, fellowship, and strengthen the bonds of Christian friendship. The gathering reflected the spirit of unity, generosity, and community that characterizes our parish family.
