Topic: The Covenant Keeping God
Key Text: Genesis 21:1-2

"And the Lord visited Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did unto Sarah as he had spoken. For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken."

God called Abraham to Himself and gave him great promises. One of the principle promises was that He shall have a son. This promise was a hard nut to crack due to Abraham's advanced age. After twenty-five years, God did to Abraham as He had promised. His wife Sarah conceived and gave birth to a son.

God is faithful! He has been faithful from generation to generation. Despite Israel's perpetual unfaithfulness, as they went and served other gods, He remained faithful to the end because of His covenantal commitment to them. (Lamentations 3:23) God is a covenant keeper!

In Greek, the word "emuna" talks about God's "steadfastness and reliableness" in His dealings with His people. (Psalm 36:5) God is faithful from morning to night!

We serve the same God today. (Hebrews 13:8) God has never changed. (Malachi 3:6) Man can lie, but not God (Numbers 23:19) He has never failed to deliver His promises. Man can promise and fail. Man can plan and fail. But God remains steadfast and trustworthy. You can rely on Him today.

Whatever God has promised you, don't get weary, He will do it. No matter how long it may take, He will fulfill it. It was like God has failed, but after twenty-five years, Isaac came forth. He is a covenant keeper.

You may have believed and waited on God for your healing, deliverance, marriage, business, job, scholarship, etc, and it seems like heaven is silent. Hold on! God is faithful. The set time will come Just like Sarah, you will soon laugh. You will soon testify.

The key to receiving God's promises is to believe. Have faith in God. ( Hebrews 11:6) Abraham believed God, even when everything seemed impossible scientifically for him to have a child, God did it! (Romans 4:17-22)
Only believe and leave the rest to Him. Faith commits God to perform! Receive your miracle today in Jesus name!

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, thank you for your promises. I believe that at the set time I shall receive my blessings. Help me to remain patient , steadfast and trust your timing in all things, in Jesus name!

Topic: Time Investment
Key Text: Ephesians 5:15-16

"Be careful then how you live, not like unwise; making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil."

Time not used is time wasted. Time is an essential resource that must never be taken for granted. Many believers feel that once they are saved it is enough. They never care how they use time. We also see in scriptures that there is a time to sow and a time to reap. (Ecclesiastes 3) It is called an opportune time. If you don't do anything during the opportune time, you will not harvest anything.
Paul the Apostle is saying, "make the most of every opportunity" that God is bringing your way.

Every day God deposits 24 hours, or 86,400 seconds. This is credited to every single person on earth. No one is given less or more than others. The difference is how we utilize the time given. Others uses it productively while some sleep or watch movies the whole day.

They say "time is money", but it has been discovered that time is more valuable than money. The truth is, you can make more money but it is impossible to make more time. So value the time God gives you and make the most of it. Until you know how vital and valuable time is, you will keep wasting it.

How to invest your time?
- Spend time with God in prayers, worship, etc. (Psalm 55:17) You cannot be too busy for God, the one who gave you the time.
- Attend fellowship. Invest your time by going to church services/programs. It's vital for your spiritual growth and stability. (Hebrews 10:25)
- Win souls for Christ. Invest your time in witnessing for the Lord.(Daniel 12:3)
- Personal development. Invest your time developing yourself. Formerly or informally, keep upgrading yourself. Acquire enough learning, otherwise you will be limited. We live in a very competitive world today. (Proverbs 14:23)
- Work. Find something to do with your hands.(Psalm 1:3b) And to maximize the working hours, one must work until evening. (Psalm 104:23) Invest in providing a service to humanity. You were born with a purpose.
- Spend time with your family. Invest it in your spouse, children, siblings, parents.
- Go for vacation. Spare time to go off from work and rest. It helps you refresh your mind and body for more productivity.
Never save time, it can't be saved, simply invest it However, there must be a proper balance of how we invest our time.

PRAYER: Father thank you for the time you have given me. Help me to invest my time wisely. Help me to discern the appropriate season and time that you have purposed for me to accomplish anything you planned for me, and deliver me from fear and procrastination, in Jesus name. Amen!

Topic: The Test Of Pride
Key Text: Proverbs 16:18

"Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall."

There are tests that all Christians must go through, and one of them is the test of pride.

Just like in school, we learn and get tested. The tests measure how much one has learned. In the same way, in the kingdom of God, we are taught the word of God, and ultimately we go through tests.
Pride is the root of many evils we face in life and destiny, therefore we must keep checking incase the spirit of pride might have overtaken us. God's word tells us that pride goes before destruction. Satan was cast out of heaven because of pride (Isaiah 14:12-13)

Pride can be defined as elevating ones opinions and thoughts above the Creator. It is excessive and improper self-esteem. It is all about me, me, me. It is relying on the arm of the flesh. It is denial of how God sees you.

Pride is self righteousness.(Psalm 10:4.)
As a Christian know that the test of pride will be a recurring test that you will face throughout your life.
Jesus went through the test of pride. (Matthew 4:5 - 7) If Jesus would jump from the pinnacle of the temple, He would be operating outside of God's plan and purpose for His life. He would have started His ministry with pride. And God hates pride.
To be humble is to realize that we are not self sufficient, but depend on God's help. The life, salvation, gifts, abilities, wealth, children, loved ones, etc, all comes from the Lord.
Being humble is admitting our limitations as human beings and our need to be helped by God.

Conduct a pride test on yourself today through these questions:
- Do you become critical or jealousy when your friends succeed?
- Do you think your way is always the best during discussions?
- Do you always seek for attention?
- Do you find it hard to acknowledge you were wrong?
- Do you get upset when people don't honour your achievements?
- Do you have an attitude of entitlement?
- Do you have a hard time to be told what to do?
- Do you talk too much about yourself?
- Do you have a pattern of lying or covering the truth?
The list goes on and on.
The bible says, examine yourself....(2 Corinthians 13:5)

PRAYER: Father, I repent of my prideful thoughts, words and actions. Holy Spirit help me and increase in me the virtue of humility in Jesus name. Amen!

Topic: Spiritual Renewal
Key Text: Isaiah 40:31

"But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength like the eagles, they shall mount up with wings like the eagles, they shall run and not be weary : and they shall walk and not faint "

There are many factors that contribute to our spiritual weariness. In this era where technology is changing rapidly,, one can easily get caught in the web of activities and forget about the need to remain spiritually vibrant.

Today, one can start the day, and spend the entire day just changing from one platform of social media to the other.
All three dimensions of man's existence, being spirit, soul and body, requires a balance in feeding and nurturing, otherwise if one area is challenged, automatically the other areas get affected equally.

We are diligent at feeding and nurturing our bodies but so lazy and reluctant to feed and nurture our spirit man. Just as the body gets strong after eating food, likewise, your spirit gets strong after feeding it with God's word and spend time in prayer.

The key text above talks about "waiting upon the Lord," which implies spending our time in prayer and fasting. Spiritual renewal means bringing back our spiritual lives to a state of liveliness. It is a time you starve your flesh and separate yourself with God, at least for a day or more for the purpose of praying and feeding on the word of God. It is a time you catch the fire of the Lord afresh. A time to take a break from Tv, social media, etc, and focus totally on God.

Every believer requires periodic spiritual renewal, failing which the spirit man gets weary. And weariness in the spirit is dangerous because we are always hunted by evil forces that seek to destroy us.

PRAYER: Father give me the grace to wait upon you adequately. Let the fire of the Holy Spirit consume any obstacle that may hinder me to fast and pray in Jesus name!

Topic: Rejoice in All Circumstances
Key Text: Philippians 4:4

"Rejoice in the Lord always; I will say it again, rejoice!"

Paul the Apostle encouraged believers at Philippi and us today to rejoice in the Lord always .The repetition of this command in this context describes it's importance.
Rejoice comes from the Greek word "Chairo', which means to be delighted, to be glad. It is a deep sense of joy. It describes our reaction to something very positive and exciting happening in our lives.
We are encouraged to rejoice all the time, whether we are in good times or not. It should be ongoing regardless of whatever circumstances in our lives. It is tempting to think that we should rejoice only when we are happy. (2 Corinthians 6:10), says " as grieving yet rejoicing." We must find joy in our struggles. In life there are mountain top as well as down the valley experiences, and in all these times, we must keep rejoicing.

There are many things that robs our joy. Could be sickness, loss of loved ones, loss of jobs, financial burdens, and so on, but as a child of God, you must develop an attitude of joy. We just constantly find our joy in the Lord.
Genuine joy is not about possessing the whole world, but realizing that this world is not our last destination, we are simply passing by, on our way to heaven.
You must always rejoice because:
- We deserved judgement but God gave us salvation. We were lost but now we are found.
- We have not only been saved but God adopted us to His family.
- God's presence is always with us. "Immanuel."
- We have been given eternal life

When you choose to rejoice in the Lord always, your mindset shifts positively. You know that God is with you. Therefore you are not bothered when all hell breaks loose. You trust that God is with you and He will never leave you nor forsake you. ( Hebrews 13:5)
When you choose to rejoice in the Lord always you live in good health. Joy is medicine to your health. You cannot harbour depression (Proverbs 17:22)
When you choose to rejoice in the lord always you encounter explosion of revelations from the word of God. Joy is key to receiving revelations from the wells of salvation. (Isaiah 12:3)
Choose to rejoice in the Lord always!

PRAYER: Father, I receive grace to not only rejoice when things are good but to choose to rejoice even when in my darkest season. Help me to rejoice all the time and share my joy to the people around me whenever and wherever, in Jesus name. Amen!

Topic: Let your light shine
Key text: Matthew 5:13-15

'You are the light of the world. A city set upon a hill can not be hidden.
Nor do they light a candle and put it under a basket but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house."

We are called to receive and radiate light. The spirit of man is a candle that is designed to be lit. (Psalm 36:9)
A Christian is a light bearer. The light is intended to light into the dark corners of the world, to enable people who are gropping in the dark find the way. Beloved, it is dark all over the world and if you keep your light in a basket, you are not doing the right thing. Let your light must shine.

Light in this context symbolizes purity and truth, which brings God's blessings, His life and salvation. On the contrary, darkness symbolizes ignorance and filth, which brings curses, death and eternal damnation.
God is light, and He dwells in unapproachable light. (1 John 1:5; 1 Timothy 6:16).
When the appointed time came, this true light came into the world, through God's Son, Jesus Christ. (John 1:4-9) Jesus came as a light for the nations, that God's grace of salvation must reach to all corners of the world.
Jesus proclaimed in (John 8:12), "I am the light of the world, whoever follows me will not walk in darkness." We have been called out of darkness to God's light. And through our connection to Jesus, His light becomes our light, and His life our life. Hallelujah!

The last part of the key text above, says, "a city set upon a hill can not be hidden." This is to tell believers to exemplify the life of Christ wherever we are. In your neighborhood, school, family, workplace, etc, people must see the light because you are a city that will be noticed in this dark world. People must come to God through you.
We fail to let our light shine:
- By concealing the truth that we know about God, and what we are.
- By failing to walk in obedience to God's word. Our deeds must reflect Christ
- By failing to witness the risen King. By not evangelizing to the lost souls.
To shine therefore, we must consistently behold His glory like in a mirror. The more you look up to Him the more you become radiant.

PRAYER: Father, I thank you for your light that is in me. I receive boldness today to let my light shine in my family, workplace, school, neighborhood, and wherever I set my feet, in Jesus name. Amen!

Topic: Dealing With Bitterness
Key Text: Hebrews 12:15

"See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God, that, no root of bitterness springs up and causes trouble, and by it many are defiled."

It has been said, "bitterness is like cancer, it eats up the host."
The worst thing you can experience in life is to live in bitterness. Bitterness corrupts and destroys. If you harbour bitterness, know that it does not just corrupt and destroy you, but many other people around you.

Bitterness is contagious, it will pass on to others. You cannot be close to a bitter person and not be infected by it. Just imagine how many destinies, marriages, relationships, ministries, careers, etc, have been destroyed due to anger, bitterness and resentment. All over the world these spirits have caused great harm on our lives.
Discouragement, frustration, failure, loss, discontentment, are some of the fertile grounds through which the root of bitterness springs out from.

(Ephesians 4:31-32) Paul the Apostle calls us to put away these sinful, hurtful, devastating behaviour. He admonishes us to love one another, be tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God forgave us.

Love is the answer to refraining from bitterness. Anger lodges in the heart of fools.
(Ephesians 4:26) says, "be angry and sin not". Once anger finds a comfortable room in your heart, it will lodge in there. Offenses are in evitable. Everyone gets offended , but how you handle those who offend you matters. Paul says "forgive". Not just forgiving others, but yourself too.

Matters of life can lead you to discouragement, frustration, depression, etc, but how you respond to them determines the outcome. Search your heart, are you bitter, angry or resenting? You cannot be bitter and be better. Seek divine help today!

PRAYER: I break free from the grip of every spirit associated with my harboured anger, bitterness, resentment, hatred, jealousy, unforgiveness, desire to revenge, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen!

Topic: Sealed By God's Spirit
Key Text: Ephesians 1:13

"In him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise."

The authenticity of the relationship between God and the believer is demonstrated by the seal of the Holy Spirit placed on the believer.
When one gets converted and is born again, God seals or stamps him with the Holy Spirit.
The seal is an identifying mark that indicates that God owns that soul.
The seal is also a mark of security. God marks the believer to protect him from the attacks that comes from the pit of hell.
The seal is a mark of validation. God marks believers to confirm the existence of relationship between Him and the believer.
The seal is an assurance of the believer's salvation. No one can break that seal.
The seal is a pledge that the believer is accepted and adopted by God as His child, and that he is eternally saved.

Once saved, the seal of the Holy Spirit manifests in the life of the believer producing fruits such as it is indicated in (Galatians 5:22-23). There must be evidence of transformation. If you are truly sealed with the Holy Spirit, the following will happen:
- you will conform to God's commands
- you will walk in love towards God and mankind
_ you will develop a passion for prayer and praise
- you will develop a passion for fellowship
- you will hate sin and shun any appearance of evil
There are many other proofs that indicates the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit at work in the life of a believer.
Therefore, as the scripture warns us, we must not grieve the Holy Spirit of promise, (Ephesians 4:29) in order to maximally enjoy intimacy with our God, and live the lifestyle that honors God.

PRAYER: Holy Spirit, thank you for your existence in my life. Today I ask that you help me to live a disciplined and thoughtful life; and I surrender the control of my life to you, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen!
