LIKE MARTIN LUTHER KING, MINISTER INA THOMPSON HAD A DREAM, AND HER DREAM WAS THAT STUDENTS WHO DID WELL SHOULD BE REWARDED.

Pastor Demetrius Thompson and his wife Minister Ina Thompson were invited to many graduations of the Youths of Yahweh House of Prayer. These youths are now thriving adults who contributes tremendously to society. It was at those graduations that they made several
observations. For example:
One of our very own made Head Boy at his school and another Head Girl
at her school. But, did they receive their just rewards? NO !

Another student, was on the honour roll throughout her kindergarten and primary education at NCA and her mother was highly upset when she did not receive a prize at her graduation. There were many other children who were overlooked for various reasons.

Finally, in August, 1998 the dream was achieved. Pastor Demetrius Thompson and Minister Ina Thompson were able to organize the first annual Honours Convocation. It was held in the dining room of the assembly. Minister Ina just absolutely believes that any student who follows these steps will at least ear a "C" average These steps are:
1) Go to school,
2) Pay attention,
3) Do your homework,
4) Do a little studying, and
5) Make sure the teacher likes you.

Many growing pains were encountered over the years and many adjustments had to be made. Unfortunately, a few years were also missed.
However, in recent years, the Youth Department, under the leadership of Deacon Sterrano Sister Tiffany Brennen, along with the assistance of Sister Andra Pedican, has taken the event to
another level.
LOOK WHERE YAHWEH HAS BROUGHT US. WE'VE COME THIS FAR BY FAITH.

Indeed, the youth of Yahweh House of Prayer, that's the children and teenagers, look
forward to Honour's Convocation every year. Some of them even gives an extra push,
because they want to make 3 point or higher, in order to be honoured at Honors Convocation Ceremony.

So that being said, this event can only be achieved annually with the full support of all
of you.
