Opening of The New Church Year 20th -22nd & 29th September 2024

Dear BCMC,

I trust that you have enjoyed a wonderful Summer and that you are rested, refreshed, and ready for the New Church Year 2024-2025.

Our theme for the New Church Year builds on our May Conference theme “Made For More” and we have added the words of Jesus from Matthew 28:18 “Go Ye Therefore !” which hopefully captures the urgency of the Master's call to be a missional church.

It is significant that September 1, 2024, fell on a Sunday this year which gave us the opportunity to begin the New Church Year echoing the theme “Made for More - Go Ye Therefore !” I will be joining with you in prayer that each congregation throughout the Conference will have a powerful encounter with the risen Christ and that each of us will hear the voice of the Master and the Call of the Kingdom.

I want to remind you all again about the new structure for the beginning of the New Church Year, and Focus Event and encourage you to begin to planning now so that the event can have maximum impact.

In an effort to foster and garner greater Conference participation and unity, we are planning for our 2024 Focus Event to include Conference, Regional and Congregational events centered on our theme “Made for More, Go Ye therefore!”- Mathew 28:18-20 & Isaiah 43:18-19.

We will begin on Friday 20th September at 7:30 pm with a Zoom Conference wide church service in which the President will give the charge.

Saturday 21st September from 8:30 am- 1:30 p.m. there will be zoom workshops that will focus on the primary key themes and priorities connected with the theme.

Sunday 22nd September (Morning): Conference wide individual Congregational Word and Worship Service centered on the Theme: “Made for More, Go Ye Therefore!” The Conference will provide an order of service which can be followed and adapted. (This will be sent out early next week).

Sunday 29th September (Evening): Regional Service of Word & Table at 5 pm or preferred time: centered on the theme (“Made for More, Go Ye Therefore!”) Location will be sent to you ahead of time. The Conference will provide an Order of Service to be used and Conference Officers and Ministers will share with each region as much as possible.

I am looking forward to a wonderful church year as we work together as humble servants of the Most High God as we are "Made for More, Go Ye Therefore!"

Yours in Christ
