“He Still Abides”
People of God, as I reflect on our Pentecost Sunday service, my heart is grateful for the power and presence of the Holy Spirit.
The same Spirit that moved in the Upper Room on the Day of Pentecost is still moving today.Yes, He still abides.
Acts chapter 2 tells us they were all in one accord and in one place. Before the fire fell, there was unity. Before the power came, there was surrender. The early church prayed together, believed together, and waited together, and heaven responded.
Jesus declared, “Ye shall be endued with power from on high.”
Today, questions for the Church:
When was the last time the world looked at the Church and it was said, “This is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel”?
When was the last time people saw the power of God operating so strongly in believers that lives changed and souls cried out for salvation?
The Church must return to being witnesses.
We must stop competing over who has the largest church, the biggest budget, the greatest title, or the most honor.
The world is watching while the Church fights, criticizes, and tears down one another: watering down the Gospel, partaking at Jezebel's table of wickedness, and compromising their character and integrity for personal gain. This should not be.
Because He abides, we are empowered to live holy, walk upright, and be true witnesses for Jesus Christ.
Because He abides, we have no option and no right to walk in division, competition, confusion, jealousy, or pride, but we are called to walk in unity, power, humility, and love.
The world needs to see a Church united and on fire for God.
We are called to be witnesses, not only in church services, but in our homes, our communities, our workplaces, and our daily walk.
The Holy Spirit still empowers believers to live holy, speak truth, love people, and lead souls to Christ.
Let us unite and not tear each other down, but instead walk in the Spirit, live as Kingdom citizens, and become the light in this dark world.
People should see the flame of the Holy Ghost in our lives everywhere we go, pointing others to Jesus Christ. Because He abides, our lives must shine with His fire, drawing people to Christ and encouraging souls to make heaven their home.
God Bless
