Holy Cross Anglican Church joins the Turner family in mourning the passing of Mrs. Gwendolyn Turner, one of the beloved matriarchs of our parish.

As a member of one of the founding families of Holy Cross, Mrs. Turner shared a deep and enduring connection to our church. Her life was woven into the history of this parish, and her presence, faith and devotion helped form the foundation upon which our Holy Cross family has continued to grow.

We give thanks to God for her life, for the years she shared in fellowship with us and for the legacy she leaves within our parish community.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Turner family and all who knew and loved her. May they be strengthened by their faith and comforted by the promise of the resurrection.

May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace and rise in glory. Amen.

As the oldest living member of our parish, Mrs. Wallace-Whitfield represents a living connection to the history and legacy of Holy Cross. Her faithful years of service, lifelong commitment and love for our parish have helped shape the community we are blessed to call home today.

The Canaanite woman came to Jesus, desperate for healing for her daughter. Even when she was turned away, she remained steadfast, believing that Jesus could do what no one else could.

Whatever you may be facing, keep pressing. Keep believing. Keep trusting God to meet you in your moment of need.

The arms of flesh will fail you, but God never does! 🙌🏽

As she begins this new chapter at Holy Cross, we invited our new Assistant Curate, Rev. Deacon Tiffany Hall-Sweeting, to share what this means to her.

She talks about the joy of parish ministry, her excitement to worship and serve alongside the people of Holy Cross, and the relationships she’s already built with many members of our parish through her previous role as Diocesan Youth Officer.

We’re excited for all that God has in store as we grow together in this new season. ❤️
