Matthew 21:43, Jesus plainly states that the kingdom of God would be taken from Israel and given to a different nation. Who is that nation? 1st Peter 2:9 calls the Christian Church a “Holy Nation”, a “Royal Priesthood”, and God’s Special People.
These titles were applied to the nation of Israel in the Old Testament but now are transferred to the Christian Church in the New Testament. The Christian Church has apparently replaced Israel and is a type of spiritual Israel. What makes the Bahamas Special? We are the people and a place.
The New World declared by Christopher Columbus 481 years before our birth happened on July 10th, 1973, when, the words spoken by Rev. Dr. Cooper declared on Independence Day “ The Holy Spirit is here this morning. Today, this is a chosen generation, this is a royal priesthood, this is a holy nation, this is a peculiar people.
I have called them to be my own that they should show forth my praise and to be an example to all to show that *Independence through God will work.’ like Israel our brothers in the flesh, we represent the spiritual Israelites in these Isles of the sea, a peculiar people.
