A Special Thank You
Solid Rock Church of the Nazarene extends our sincere appreciation to Mrs. Michelle Bowleg, Deputy Director of Education for Grand Bahama and the Northern Bahamas in the Ministry of Education, and Ms. Stephanie Griffith, Head of the Security Division for Grand Bahama, along with the dedicated security personnel, for visiting Solid Rock on Sunday as they celebrated Security Month.
We are grateful for your presence, your service, and your commitment to our community. Your visit was greatly appreciated, and we thank you for taking the time to fellowship with us.
May God continue to bless you and the important work you do in serving the people of Grand Bahama and the Northern Bahamas.
With sincere appreciation,

The Word: DON’T PLAY ME LIKE THAT!
– 2nd Kings 4:8-21 & 2nd Kings 4:30-35
The Shunammite woman recognized and supported God’s servant, making room for him and serving faithfully. God blessed her with a son, even though she had not asked for one. But later, the son died, testing her faith.
The Shunammite woman faced a situation that looked hopeless, but she refused to give up on God. Even when her son was dead, she declared, β€œIt is well.” She continued to pursue God, held on to faith, and trusted Him for the impossible.
When life does not look well, keep your faith, keep praying, and keep holding on to God. What looks dead to us is never beyond God’s power to restore.
β€œIt may not look well, but because God is still in control, I can say by faith, IT IS WELL.”

On Sunday, August 30, 2026, Solid Rock Church of the Nazarene came alive with the joyful energy of children and teens as the congregation held it’s annual Back to School Sunday give-away, sending students off to a new school year with new backpacks, a full heart, and a clear charge from God's Word.

God has not forsaken you! It was a fitting word for young people stepping into a new academic year, many of them facing new grades, new teachers, and new challenges.

The message was delivered by Rev. E. Ann Roberts, she reminded them that no matter what the school year brings, they are never alone β€” God has not, and will not, forsake them. Her charge to the students was simple but pointed: stay focused, keep God's Word close by reading their Bibles, and carry themselves with respect β€” toward their parents, their teachers, and their fellow students alike.

It was a message aimed not just at academic success, but at character, reminding the young people that how they treat others matters.
Following the sermon came the moment the children had been waiting for. One by one, students of every age β€” from wide-eyed toddlers to teenagers already looking toward the future β€” came forward to receive brand-new backpacks full with school supplies.

Church elders, and Ministers covered the children in prayer. As Back to School Sunday service came to a close, the message lingered: God has not forsaken you β€” now go, stay focused, and walk in respect.
