A VINDA SÚBITA DO REINO DE DEUS.

E, interrogado pelos fariseus sobre quando havia de vir o reino de Deus, respondeu-lhes e disse: O reino de Deus não vem com aparência exterior. Nem dirão: Ei-lo aqui, ou: Ei-lo ali; porque eis que o reino de Deus está entre vós. E disse aos discípulos: Dias virão em que desejareis ver um dos dias do Filho do homem, e não o vereis.

E dir-vos-ão: Ei-lo aqui, ou: Ei-lo ali. Não vades, nem os sigais. Porque, como o relâmpago ilumina desde uma extremidade inferior do céu até à outra extremidade, assim será também o Filho do homem no seu dia. Mas primeiro convém que ele padeça muito, e seja reprovado por esta geração. E, como aconteceu nos dias de Noé,

Assim será também nos dias do Filho do homem. Comiam, bebiam, casavam, e davam-se em casamento, até ao dia em que Noé entrou na arca, e veio o dilúvio, e os consumiu a todos. Como também da mesma maneira aconteceu nos dias de Ló: Comiam, bebiam, compravam, vendiam, plantavam e edificavam.

Mas no dia em que Ló saiu de S***ma choveu do céu fogo e enxofre, e os consumiu a todos. Assim será no dia em que o Filho do homem se há de manifestar. Naquele dia, quem estiver no telhado, tendo as suas alfaias em casa, não desça a tomá-las; e, da mesma sorte, o que estiver no campo não volte para trás.

Lembrai-vos da mulher de Ló. Qualquer que procurar salvar a sua vida, perdê-la-á, e qualquer que a perder, salvá-la-á. Digo-vos que naquela noite estarão dois numa cama; um será tomado, e outro será deixado. Duas estarão juntas, moendo; uma será tomada, e outra será deixada.

THE SUDDEN COMING OF THE KINGDOM OF GOD.

And when he was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation. Neither will they say, Lo here! or, Lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you. And he said to his disciples, The days will come, when ye shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and ye shall not see it.

And they will say unto you, Lo here! or, Lo there! Go not, nor follow them. For as the lightning lighteneth out of the one part under heaven even unto the other part under heaven; so shall also the Son of man be in his day. But first must he suffer many things, and be rejected of this generation. And as it was in the days of Noah,

so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. They were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying and being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot: They were eating, they were drinking, they were buying, they were selling, they were planting, they were building.

But on the day that Lot went out of S***m it rained fire and sulfur from heaven and destroyed them all. So it will be on the day when the Son of Man is revealed. On that day, no one who is on the housetop, with his things in the house, must go down to get them; and likewise no one who is in the field must turn back.

Remember Lot's wife. Whoever seeks to save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will save it. I tell you, in that night two people will be in one bed; one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding together; one will be taken, and the other will be left.

JESUS, O BOM PASTOR.

Na verdade, na verdade vos digo que aquele que não entra pela porta no curral das ovelhas, mas soube por outra parte, é ladrão e salteador. Aquele, porém, que entra pela porta é o pastor das ovelhas. A este o porteiro abre, e as ovelhas ouvem a sua voz, e chama pelo nome às suas ovelhas, e as traz para fora. E, quando tira para fora as suas ovelhas, vai adiante delas, e as ovelhas o seguem, porque conhecem a sua voz.

Mas de modo nenhum seguirão o estranho, antes fugirão dele, porque não conhecem a voz dos estranhos. Jesus disse-lhes esta parábola; mas eles não entenderam o que era que lhes dizia. Tornou, pois, Jesus a dizer-lhes: Em verdade, em verdade vos digo que eu sou a porta das ovelhas. Todos quantos vieram antes de mim são ladrões e salteadores; mas as ovelhas não os ouviram. Eu sou a porta; se alguém entrar por mim, salvar-se-á, e entrará, e sairá, e achará pastagens.

O ladrão não vem senão a roubar, a matar, e a destruir; eu vim para que tenham vida, e a tenham com abundância. Eu sou o bom Pastor; o bom Pastor dá a sua vida pelas ovelhas. Mas o mercenário, e o que não é pastor, de quem não são as ovelhas, vê vir o lobo, e deixa as ovelhas, e foge; e o lobo as arrebata e dispersa as ovelhas. Ora, o mercenário foge, porque é mercenário, e não tem cuidado das ovelhas. Eu sou o bom Pastor, e conheço as minhas ovelhas, e das minhas sou conhecido.

Assim como o Pai me conhece a mim, também eu conheço o Pai, e dou a minha vida pelas ovelhas. Ainda tenho outras ovelhas que não são deste aprisco; também me convém agregar estas, e elas ouvirão a minha voz, e haverá um rebanho e um Pastor. Por isto o Pai me ama, porque dou a minha vida para tornar a tomá-la. Ninguém me tira de mim, mas eu de mim mesmo a dou; tenho poder para a dar, e poder para tornar a tomá-la. Este mandamento recebi de meu Pai.

Tornou, pois, a haver divisão entre os judeus por causa destas palavras. E muitos deles diziam: Tem demônio, e está fora de si; por que o ouvis? JÓ HUMILHA - PERANTE SEU DEUS E LHE GLÓRIAS.

Então respondeu Jó ao Senhor, dizendo: Bem sei eu que tudo podes, e que nenhum dos teus propósitos pode ser impedido. Quem é este, que sem conhecimento encobre o conselho? Por isso relatei o que não entendia; coisas que para mim eram inescrutáveis, e que eu não entendia.

Escuta-me, pois, e eu falarei; eu te perguntarei, e tu me ensinarás. Com o ouvir dos meus ouvidos ouvi, mas agora te veem os meus olhos. Por isso me abomino e me arrependo no pó e na cinza. (Jó 42:1 – 6 – Postado Ismael o servo do Deus Vivente.

A MATANÇA DOS ISRAELITAS E A MORTE DE SAUL.

OS filisteus, pois, pelejaram contra Israel; e os homens de Israel fugiram de diante dos filisteus, e caíram mortos na montanha de Gilboa. E os filisteus perseguiram a Saul e a seus filhos; e mataram a Jônatas, e a Abinadabe, e a Malquisua, filhos de Saul. E a peleja se agravou contra Saul, e os flecheiros o alcançaram; e muito temeu por causa dos flecheiros.

Então disse Saul ao seu pajem de armas: Arranca a tua espada, e atravessa-me com ela, para que porventura não venham estes incircuncisos, e me atravessem e escarneçam de mim. Porém o seu pajem de armas não quis, porque temia muito; então Saul tomou a espada, e se lançou sobre ela.

Vendo, pois, o seu pajem de armas que Saul já era morto, também ele se lançou sobre a sua espada, e morreu com ele. Assim faleceu Saul, e seus três filhos, e o seu pajem de armas, e também todos os seus homens morreram juntamente naquele dia. E, vendo os homens de Israel, que estavam deste lado do vale e deste lado do Jordão, que os homens de Israel fugiram.

E que Saul e seus filhos estavam mortos, abandonaram as cidades, e fugiram; e vieram os filisteus, e habitaram nelas. Sucedeu, pois, que, vindo os filisteus no outro dia para despojar os mortos, acharam a Saul e a seus três filhos estirados na montanha de Gilboa.

E cotaram-lhe a cabeça, e o despojaram das suas armas, e enviaram pela terra dos filisteus, em redor, a anunciá-lo no templo dos seus ídolos e entre o povo. E puseram as suas armas no templo de Astarote, e o seu corpo o afixaram no muro de Bete-Seã. Ouvindo então os moradores de Jabes-Gileade, o que os filisteus fizeram a Saul.

Todo o homem valoroso se levantou, e caminharam toda a noite, e tiraram o corpo de Saul e os corpos de seus filhos do muro, de Bete-Seã, e, vindo a Jabes, os queimaram. JERICÓ É DESTRUIDA.

E Raabe é salva... Ora Jericó estava rigorosamente fechada por causa dos filhos de Israel; ninguém saía nem entrava. Então disse o Senhor a Josué: Olha, tenho dado na tua mão a Jericó, ao seu rei e aos seus homens valorosos. Vós, pois, todos os homens de guerra, rodeareis a cidade, cercando-a uma vez; assim fareis por seis dias.

E sete sacerdotes levarão sete buzinas de chifres de carneiros adiante da arca, e no sétimo dia rodeareis a cidade sete vezes, e os sacerdotes tocarão as buzinas. E será que, tocando-se prolongadamente a buzina de carneiro, ouvindo vós o seu sonido, todo o povo gritará com grande brado; e o muro da cidade cairá abaixo, e o povo subirá por ele, cada um em frente.

Então Josué, filho de Num, chamou aos sacerdotes e disse-lhes: Levai a arca da aliança; e sete sacerdotes levem sete buzinas de chifres de carneiros, adiante da arca do Senhor. E disse ao povo: Passai e rodeai a cidade; e quem estiver armado, passe adiante da arca do Senhor. E assim foi que, como Josué dissera ao povo, os sete sacerdotes, levando as sete buzinas de carneiros diante do Senhor.

Passaram e tocaram as buzinas; e a arca da aliança do Senhor os seguia. E os homens armados iam adiante dos sacerdotes, que tocavam as buzinas; e a retaguarda seguia após a arca; andando e tocando as buzinas iam os sacerdotes. Porém ao povo Josué tinha dado ordem, dizendo: Não gritareis, nem fareis ouvir a vossa voz, nem sairá palavra alguma da vossa boca até ao dia que eu vos diga:

Gritai. Então gritareis. E fez a arca do Senhor rodear a cidade, contornando-a uma vez; e entraram no arraial, e ali passaram a noite. Depois Josué se levantou de madrugada, e os sacerdotes levaram a arca do Senhor. Senhor; os sacerdotes iam andando e tocando as buzinas. Assim rodearam outra vez a cidade no segundo dia e voltaram para o arraial; e assim fez seis dias.

E sucedeu que, ao sétimo dia, madrugaram ao subir da alva, e da mesma maneira rodearam a cidade sete vezes; naquele dia somente rodearam a cidade sete vezes. E sucedeu que, tocando os sacerdotes pela sétima vez as buzinas, disse Josué ao povo: Gritai, porque o Senhor vos tem dado a cidade.

Porém a cidade será anátema ao Senhor, ela e tudo quanto houver nela; somente a pr******ta Raabe viverá; ela e todos os que com ela estiverem em casa; porquanto escondeu os mensageiros que enviamos. Tão-somente guardai-vos do anátema, para que não toqueis nem tomeis alguma coisa dele, e assim façais ma***to o arraial de Israel, e o perturbeis.

Porém toda a prata, e o ouro, e os vasos de metal, e de ferro são consagrados ao Senhor; irão ao tesouro do Senhor. Gritou, pois, o povo, tocando os sacerdotes as buzinas; e sucedeu que, ouvindo o povo o sonido da buzina, gritou o povo com grande brado; e o muro caiu abaixo, e o povo subiu à cidade, cada um em frente de si, e tomaram a cidade.

E tudo quanto havia na cidade destruíram totalmente ao fio da espada, desde o homem até à mulher, desde o menino até ao velho, e até ao boi e gado miúdo, e ao jumento. Josué, porém, disse aos dois homens que tinham espiado a terra: Entrai na casa da mulher pr******ta, e tirai-a de lá com tudo quanto tiver, como lhe tendes jurado.

Então entraram os jovens espias, e tiraram a Raabe e a seu pai, e a sua mãe, e a seus irmãos, e a tudo quanto tinha; tiraram também a toda a sua parentela, e os puseram fora do arraial de Israel. Porém a cidade e tudo quanto havia nela queimaram a fogo; tão-somente a prata, e o ouro, e os vasos de metal e de ferro, deram para o tesouro da casa do SENHOR.

Assim deu Josué vida à pr******ta Raabe e à família de seu pai, e a tudo quanto tinha; e habitou no meio de Israel até ao dia de hoje; porquanto escondera os mensageiros que Josué tinha enviado a espiar a Jericó. E naquele tempo Josué os esconjurou, dizendo: Ma***to diante do Senhor seja o homem que se levantar e reedificar esta cidade de Jericó; sobre seu primogênito a fundará, e sobre o seu filho mais novo lhe porá as portas. JERICHO IS DESTROYED.

And Rahab is saved... Now Jericho was strictly closed on account of the children of Israel; no one went out or in. Then the LORD said to Joshua, See, I have given into your hand Jericho, its king, and its mighty men. You therefore, all men of war, shall encircle the city, encircling it once; so shall you do for six days.

And seven priests shall carry seven horns of rams' horns before the ark, and on the seventh day ye shall compass the city seven times, and the priests shall blow the horns. And it shall come to pass, when the ram's horn is blown for a long time, and you hear its sound, that all the people will shout with a loud cry; and the wall of the city will fall down, and the people will climb over it, every one in front of him.

Then Joshua the son of Nun called for the priests, and said to them, Take up the ark of the covenant; and seven priests carry seven rams' horns before the ark of the LORD. And he said to the people: Pass over and compass the city; and whoever is armed, let him pass before the ark of the Lord. And so it was, as Joshua had said to the people, the seven priests, bearing the seven rams' horns before the Lord.

They passed and honked their horns; and the ark of the covenant of the LORD followed them. And the armed men went before the priests, who blew their horns; and the rear followed after the ark; walking and blowing the horns went the priests. But Joshua had commanded the people, saying, You shall not cry out, nor make your voice heard, neither shall a word come out of your mouth until the day that I say to you,

Shout. Then you will scream. And he made the ark of the Lord go round the city, going round it once; and they entered the camp, and there they spent the night. Then Joshua rose early in the morning, and the priests carried the ark of the Lord. Sir; the priests were walking and blowing their horns. So they rounded the city again on the second day, and returned to the camp; and so he did six days.

And it came to pass on the seventh day, that they rose early at the rising of the dawn, and in the same way went round the city seven times; that day they circled the city only seven times. And it came to pass, when the priests blew the horns the seventh time, that Joshua said unto the people, Shout, for the LORD hath given you the city.

But the city shall be anathema to the Lord, it and all that is in it; only the harlot Rahab will live; she and all who are with her in the house; because he hid the messengers that we sent. Only beware of the accursed thing, lest you touch or take anything from it, and so make the camp of Israel cursed, and trouble it.

But all the silver, and the gold, and the vessels of brass, and of iron, are consecrated to the Lord; will go to the treasury of the Lord. So the people shouted, the priests blowing their horns; and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the horn, that the people shouted with a loud cry; and the wall fell down, and the people went up into the city, each one in front of him, and they took the city.

And all that was in the city they utterly destroyed with the edge of the sword, both man and woman, child and old man, even the ox and the sheep and the ass. But Joshua said to the two men who had spied out the land, Go into the house of the harlot woman, and bring her out of there with all that you have, as you swore to her.

Then the young spies went in, and took Rahab and her father, and her mother, and her brethren, and all that she had; they also took away all their kindred, and set them outside the camp of Israel. But the city and all that was in it burned with fire; only the silver, and the gold, and the vessels of brass and of iron, they gave into the treasury of the house of the LORD.

So Joshua gave life to Rahab the harlot, and to her father's family, and to all that she had; and he dwelt in the midst of Israel to this day; because he had hidden the messengers that Joshua had sent to spy out Jericho. And at that time Joshua adjured them, saying, Cursed before the LORD be the man that riseth up and buildeth this city Jericho; on his firstborn shall he establish it, and upon his youngest son shall he set the gates for it.
