Romans 14:2,5,17,23
[2]One [man's faith permits him to] believe he may eat anything, while a weaker one [limits his] eating to vegetables.
[5]One man esteems one day as better than another, while another man esteems all days alike [sacred]. Let everyone be fully convinced (satisfied) in his own mind.
[17][After all] the kingdom of God is not a matter of [getting the] food and drink [one likes], but instead it is righteousness (that state which makes a person acceptable to God) and [heart] peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
[23]But the man who has doubts (misgivings, an uneasy conscience) about eating, and then eats [perhaps because of you], stands condemned [before God], because he is not true to his convictions and he does not act from faith. For whatever does not originate and proceed from faith is sin [whatever is done without a conviction of its approval by God is sinful].

1. In the beginning… was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and THE WORD WAS GOD HIMSELF (John 1:1 AMPC).
2. When we HAVE THE REVELATION that the WORD IS GOD HIMSELF, we demonstrate our love for Him by ATTENDING (paying attention) to, and DOING His Word. We, therefore, make the Word our priority by MEDITATING (pondering, considering, reviewing, turning over in our minds) on the Word daily.
3. Only then will we gain wisdom, knowledge, and understanding, where we have “better understanding and deeper insight than all our teachers”, empowering us to live in victory in every area of our lives!

*LOVE IS WELL-BEHAVED*

Love_does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; *1 Corinthians 13:5–6*_

Walking in love is also about behaving well towards others. As Christians, we must endeavour not to be disrespectful to others whether we agree or disagree with them.

*Not self-seeking.* Love considers the opinions and concerns of others. It does not make you think you are always right and makes you empathetic. In your relationship with your spouse, parents, siblings, friends and colleagues, you must seek their best interest at heart.

When there is love, there would be kindness and good manners. You will speak well to people whether they are your subordinates or your superiors. You will treat people with care and concern; and appreciate their wellbeing and welfare.

*Not easily provoked.* Those who love others do not normally become irritated and angry whenever others do wrong, but rather are slow to anger. They are patient. Even when there is a legitimate reason to vent out your anger, it is done in a more measured and responsible manner.

When you love, you don’t keep a record of wrongs. This is not easy to do but it is possible. Jesus demonstrated this on the cross when He prayed that God would have mercy on the soldiers who had nailed Him to the cross. In line with the way Christ forgave our sins and no longer holds them against us, so must our love hold no record of evil. Jesus’ example must become our example.

*Not evil-minded.* Love takes no delight in evil or in the misfortunes of others, but it takes great pleasure in what is right. Certainly, love is not soft. It will always seek to build up the other, but that does not mean turning a blind eye to sin or not calling out the evil in another person.

Love is a way of being as a person, a way of thinking, acting, and living. It is, in fact, being Christ-like. May we continue to demonstrate Christlike love in a

14. And it is no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light;

15. So it is not surprising if his servants also masquerade as ministers of righteousness. [But] their end will correspond with their deeds.

16. I repeat then, let no one think I have lost my wits; but even if you do, then bear with a witless man, so that I too may boast a little.

17. What I say by way of this confident boasting, I say not with the Lord's authority [by inspiration] but, as it were, in pure witlessness.

Darkness and light are metaphors for evil and good. If anyone sees an angel of light, it will automatically seem to be a good being, for the correlation of evil with darkness, and of good with light, is a powerful archetype in human history. In the Bible, light is a spiritual metaphor for truth and God’s unchanging nature (James 1:17). It is repeatedly used in the Bible to help us understand that God is wholly good and truthful (1 John 1:5). When we are “in the light,” we are with Him (1 Peter 2:9). He exhorts us to join Him in the light (1 John 1:7), for giving us light was His purpose (John 12:46). Light is the place where love dwells and is comfortable (1 John 2:9-10). God has created light (Genesis 1:3), dwells in the light (1 Timothy 6:16) and puts the light in human hearts so that we can see and know Him and understand truth (2 Corinthians 4:6).

So, when 2 Corinthians 11:14 tells us that “Satan disguises himself as an angel of light,” it means that Satan capitalizes on our love of the light in order to deceive. He wants us to think that he is good, truthful, loving, and powerful – all the things that God is. To portray himself as a dark, devilish being with horns would not be very appealing to the majority of people. Most people are not drawn to darkness, but to light. Therefore, Satan appears as a creature of light to draw us to himself and his lies.

How can we discern which light is of God and which light is of Satan? Our minds and hearts are easily confused by conflicting messages. How can we make sure we are on the right path? Psalm 119 says, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (verse 105) and “The unfolding of your words gives light; it imparts understanding to the simple” (verse 130). The words of God have power. Just as God’s voice spoke physical light into existence, it can speak spiritual light into our hearts. Exposure to His voice – in His Word – will help us recognize the difference between the good light of God and that which

What are you thinking about today, and how does it make you feel?

There is a proven connection between the mind and the body, and it gives us an easy and inexpensive way to help maintain good health. You can choose to think positive, peaceful, biblical thoughts in order to develop a healthier spirit, soul, and body.

Nobody wants to be a victim, and we certainly don’t want to be victimized by our own thoughts. Learning to think purposely and aggressively, instead of passively providing an empty space for whatever thoughts come to mind or the devil offers, is the way to become the victor instead of the victim.

In your quiet time with God, ask Him to help you think faith-filled thoughts, and get started today on your way to a healthier mind and body.
