Reyna I. Aburto: "One of my favorite stages as a parent was when my kids entered the youth age, where our conversations became more adult-like. I have learned so much throughout the years as we sit around the dining table with our children and have deep conversations with them, including making family decisions.
In an effort to overprotect our children, we sometimes shelter them from the problems or struggles we are having. But regardless of their age, our children can be a source of comfort and guidance as we try to receive revelation as a family.
I’m grateful for the support I have received from my children, even in my current calling as I prepare for assignments like general conference talks. They give me such great feedback, and I always learn so much from them. Include your children in your conversations, listen to them, and learn from them. It’s a joyful, ever-changing process where you will help each other grow.
How have your children or younger family members helped you as you navigate through life?"
