🛑 EATING THE FOOD THAT THE DISBELIEVERS HAVE PREPARED FOR THEIR FEASTS

Question :
Is it permissible for a Muslim to eat food prepared by the People of the Book or the polytheists on their feast days, or to accept a gift from them for their feast day?
Response from the Standing Committee [of Scholars] of the Ifta :
It is not permissible for a Muslim to eat meals prepared by Jews and Christians and polytheists as part of the celebration of their religious holidays.
He is also not allowed to receive their gifts on this occasion because it would be honoring them and cooperating with them in such a way as to give more importance to their rites, to spread their innovations and to share their joy during their feasts.
All things that could lead us to adopt their parties or exchange invitations or gifts at their parties and at our own parties.
Which constitutes a temptation and an innovation in the (Muslim) religion.
Now it has been reliably reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of allaah be upon him) said :
"Whoever introduces into our case (religion) a practice that is foreign to him, will see it rejected".
Likewise, it is forbidden to offer them anything for their parties.

حكم الأكل من الأطعمة التي أعدها الكفار بمناسبة أعيادهم
السؤال : هل يجوز للمسلم أن يأكل من الأطعمة التي أعدها أهل الكتاب أو المشركون في أيام عيدهم أو يقبل عطية منهم لأجل عيدهم؟
الجواب : لا يجوز للمسلم أن يأكل مما يصنعه اليهود أو النصارى أو المشركون من الأطعمة لأعيادهم، ولا يجوز أيضا للمسلم أن يقبل منهم هدية من أجل عيدهم، لما في ذلك من تكريمهم والتعاون معهم في إظهار شعائرهم وترويج بدعهم ومشاركتهم السرور أيام أعيادهم، وقد يجر ذلك إلى اتخاذ أعيادهم أعيادا لنا، أو إلى تبادل الدعوات إلى تناول الأطعمة أو الهدايا في أعيادنا وأعيادهم على الأقل، وهذا من الفتن والابتداع في الدين، وقد ثبت عن النبي -صلى الله عليه وسلم- أنه قال
«من أحدث في أمرنا ما ليس منه فهو رد»

، كما لا يجوز أن يهدى إليهم شيء من أجل عيدهم. وبالله التوفيق، وصلى الله على نبينا محمد وآله وصحبه وسلم
